Comfortable house with everything you need within walking distance
We had a lovely week in Gujan-Mestras. The self check in was very convenient and it was a lovely surprise to find a chilled bottle of white wine in the fridge. We also very much appreciated other thoughtful presents! Communication with Barbara was excellent, even though we did not met; she was quick to respond and helpful with tips etc.
The house is comfortable and very well equipped, especially the kitchen is a delight. The advanced air conditioning system is adjustable per room and is absolutely silent. The covered terrace is nice and convenient and around the house are several nice places in the sun or shade to sit. Excellent bakery and butcher 5 minutes walk, also some other shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance. By train (station 10 minutes walk) you are in the heart of Arcachon within 15 minutes. So you can stay here without a car. Keep in mind that the location (the terrace and pool area) is not totally private and that the immediate surroundings are not particularly beautiful (we thought). For families it is perhaps inconvenient that there is only 1 toilet and 1 bathroom. We found the back (master) bedroom and bathroom a bit stuffy and smelly.
All in all, we would definitely recommend this house, especially if the price-quality ratio would be better balanced.
