Amazing place to stay. Outdoor shower was a gem, Place was simple but everything you needed. The only difficult thing was the walkway down for anyone with mobility issues would have a hard time at it.
Great stay overall. Pros: beautiful scenery and deck space with friendly gecko friends. Comfortable unit. Cool outdoor shower with hot water. Keurig coffee with a few free pods. Cons: very limited storage and hanging space, the only towel hooks are outdoors where it rains and get windy daily. There should be hooks inside the bathroom and/or in the unit. Bathroom is not inside the unit, you need to go outside to access it. Zero storage space in bathroom besides top of toilet tank and small sink. Freezer barely works and needs defrosting. There is not a picnic table on the deck as pictured. The unit itself technically doesnât lock, just the front gate to the area. Summary: beautiful and fun stay, especially if you are low maintenance and donât have a ton of belongings.
Very clean and updated. Sunrise view beautiful. Communication excellent. We would stay again. A few challenges: There is no walkway to the lodge and walking down the grassy slope at night or with luggage is difficult. It mists on the mountain and made the grass slippery. The second challenge is not having a place to put your luggage. There is minimal storage to put things outside in the bathroom or anywhere in the bedroom. We had to keep everything in our suitcases at night. In the morning we had to make the bed and then we could open up our suitcases and get out what we need. Not difficult but just inconvenient.
The site was tidy and clean. Great location with quick access to town/beaches. The private patio was a great place to relax after a long day. Lots of gecko friends outside. Would definitely stay again.
amazing and beautiful setting, great description. the indoor space is small but there is plenty of room in the unit as there is a huge deck and open air shower as well as a bathroom. This is the perfect set up for a stay in the north shore. with a great feeling of connection to nature. you feel far away yet you are close to grocery store, beach, restaurants etc. thanks!
The room was very small, enough for a queen bed a narrow walk space on two sides and a counter/sink and dorm fridge. No chairs or table inside. Used AC unit fan at night since ceiling fan was noisy. Nice deck with picnic table but ability to use it was limited as it was often wet from daily rains. The outdoor shower and toilet was a different experience We thought It was closer to sharks cove than it was(thought we could walk there). Nice neighborhood but the road up to it was narrow and windy and about 1.5-2 miles long and 500 feet above sea level so not realistically walkable to the beach, and we like to walk a lot. Having Foodland so close was convenient. Location was great in that Sunset, pipeline, Waimea Bay beaches and Haleâwa (restaurants and shops) were a short drive away.
The Treehouse was a very nice place to stay for our three-night visit to the North Shore. Most of all we loved the outdoor shower, the deck, and the view. The tightness of the room was only an issue when it was raining outside; there's not a lot of room for luggage, and you have to make room for the other person to move in the little bit of space there is. But we managed just fine. The neighborhood is peaceful and beautiful, but keep in mind that the nearest food is a few miles back (on the main highway); no restaurants or stores you can walk to from the house. Overall, we really liked this place and hope to stay there again!
Great place to stay for a quiet setting with views of beautiful tropical countryside view. It is a bit different than standard hotel with seperate but clean bathroom and outdoor but private outdoor shower! Very nice neighborhood. Easy hiking trails right behind property.
The location is great if you want to snorkel Pupukea and explore the north shore. The place itself was tiny inside with a big lanai set in a quiet forest with a wide variety of fruit trees on the grounds making for a lovely short walk. We only stayed a few days and it was restorative getting out of city life. Snorkeling every morning, caught the surfing on double overhead days at pipeline and sunset, where we also caught a beautiful sunset. There were a few downsides...we could not get the lights on the lanai working and were too lazy to inquire :), and the little kid next store was exuberantly vocal about everything, but otherwise it was a great stay and we just treated the kid as one more form of wildlife to go with the birds and crickets. Place was super clean and roach free, which is an achievement for country Oahu!
It is quite hard to find such a quiet private place like this in Hawaii that is affordable clean and beautiful. This place was an absolutely gem of a find. The outdoor shower was divine especially under the stars. The bed was very comfortable and the surroundings were serene and gorgeous Bonus: only a 5 min drive to the beach. Absolutely recommend staying here, 5 stars.
Good location with privacy. Some opportunities for improvement.
Pros: located close to Sharks Cove, amazing view, AC, fridge and toaster work well. Dive masks were convenient. Bug spray was provided.
Cons: mattress isn't great, the bathroom is not connected to the main living room, youâll have to go out in the rain to use it. The deck isnât covered. It rained everyday making the deck useless. There is no good path down to the house. The rocks and concrete at the entrance are slick and covered with moss. Almost fell a couple times. There is no handrail for the steps/rock pavers coming down the hill. Use the long way around it is safer when wet. Hot water heater is tiny. Hope you like quick showers. Gate lock mechanism may be hard to work especially at night or when hands are wet. Needs a motion mentor light by the lock. Freezer is in desperate need of defrosting.
Such a great location to be close to everything in North Shore. The bed was comfortable and we slept well and you could see the stars at night so clearly because of the isolated location. This was the perfect little home base for our time on the North shore. I will say however that the AC unit was very loud and made sound inconsistently throughout the night so that kept us up a little bit. And I would recommend to not overpack because the small space can feel cluttered quickly. I did really appreciate the included beach towels.
Comfortable bed, private, beautiful view. Not many amenities but itâs amazing how you can make it work. We loved it! We did stay 5 nights, only thing we really missed was to do a load of laundry!
