Lots of room for guests inside and out. Would suggest taking your own supplies for cooking as the kitchen is limited. Had to contact the host as there was no TP, paper towels, dish clothes available upon arrival. Was told they were in a locked closet upstairs...how was I to know that there was no binder available. Only found the dish clothes on day 3 of our stay when we did laundry, they were in the dryer, again how were we to know that. The downstairs shower only had cold water, and blue sludge came out of the hot water tap. Was told by host to check the breakers but we were so busy, and just used the upstairs BR for showering instead.
Before we arrived, I messaged the host about whether the rooms had curtains as I had seen in the photos that some rooms did not. They confirmed all rooms had curtains. Upon arriving we noticed 2 rooms did not have curtains and the one room had 2 sets of glass doors that opened onto the kitchen and entry way. The house smelled of sulphur and when we went to the basement we could tell there had been a water leak and it looked as though there was black mold around the baseboards. There was a shattered broken window outside on the barn and the screen door in the dining room had a torn screen which blew in the breeze. We also discovered that there was no water pressure in any sink/tub. The showers upstairs had no water, the taps had a trickle. I immediately messaged the host and waited hours for a response. When asked about the curtains, he asked me what I wanted him to do about it. For the water, he said that I must be running other faucets around the house - which we were not. The water was a concern as we were not wanting to drink it as it smelled of sulphur so we purchased water and brought it to the house. He did not respond to our other concerns about the broken window/screen. I would not recommend staying in this house until the water issues are resolved, the leak in the basement and mold is seen to. Other than these big issues, the house is very large for a big group and has several rooms to spend time in. We did enjoy the bonfire outside.
We were a group of eight friends (some couples) who had a wonderful, relaxing time together in a beautiful house. The host was extremely responsive and took care of us. Will definitely try staying here again!
When we arrived it was a mess with trash just scattered around the trash can. We messaged the host right away and he said he would fix tomorrow. It was not fixed, until we took care of it for him.
There were mice in the finished basement, so let the host know and he was gracious to provide bait. So, didnât see any after setting out the bait.
Checkin/checkout should be automated, had to message host to inquire about those, though since he answered immediately didnât cause any issues.
Other then that worked well, and was as advertised.
Great house. Lots of room with three furnished floors. Massive yard the size of a football field. One of the bedrooms was missing blinds which is an easy fix.
Great location between Hamilton and Nigeria Falls. Several grocery stores within 20 min. Lots of great restaurants both in Niagera Falls and Hamilton. House was spacious but did need some general up keep and cleaning. Bring towels and pillows. Two beds with comfortable mattresses. 4 were pretty firm. Owner was notified of issues and responded he would try to make things better for the next guest.
Spacious place with comfortable beds in the heart of wine country. Perfect place to watch an eclipse! I would recommend bringing your own supplies as the house is fairly limited in terms of pillows, towels, soap. Kitchen has lots of supplies.
