The property was very charming, property owner was very nice, however I was mislead by a few details from the pictures..There are ppl living next door and the run up and down the only driveway access, parking was not very good due to blocking their way in & out. The house was pretty clean for its age. The yard was very grown up, the only way in was through a set of steep stairs which was not mentioned, glad I didn't have anyone disabled with us. Some light bulbs did not work, the bathroom faucet needs repair, and kitchen ceiling fan needs repair. Other than that I have no complaints. Just needs sprucing up for the money they charge is not the same price as listed on VRBO..
The view was priceless but the house itself was just okay. The AC did not cool down the house but to 78 degrees. There were termites all over the house. The cleanliness was not there.
Dog hair on couch, dirty towels from previous guest hanging on shower wall, stains on bathroom floor, poison ivy everywhere which I contracted, mold and mildew in the shower, could not get the WIFI password to work. I'm sure I will be visiting the dr. for the poison ivy. Could not get through to speak to anyone that would help me with my issues. I would like a call. K Smith
We watched the eclipse from the pretty patio looking over the Spring River. All was relaxed and friendly. Some may dislike the steep driveway, but there was plenty of parking once you get up the driveway. We had everything we needed and enjoyed the Hardy area.
Beds were comfy, nice pillows beautiful patio and balcony! This was the perfect place for our family and friends to stay and hang out after a wonderful time floating the River! Perfect location!
Nice location to Buford Beach. Loved the sound of the falls from the balcony. Adequate accommodations but the entire place could have used a good, thorough cleaning. Living room furniture was very uncomfortable and the sofa was actually being propped up by books due to a broken leg. Beds were soft and darker curtains would be nice for those who donât want to wake up at sunrise. Kitchen supplies (utensils and cookware) were minimal so if you plan to cook, bring your own. Owner was very responsive to questions and a wasp issue on the balcony.
The property was good enough to rest in. The listing did not indicate that this was a 3 story apartment with which you are sharing with people above and below you. The driveway was TERRIBLE and there were not enough parking places. The place smelled strongly of fish upon
arrival so I was really glad I brought Febreeze. The furniture was really old and needs updating bad. The people above us flooded their place so we awoke to water dripping in our faces with the entire bedroom and bath springing leaks everywhere getting EVERYTHING soaking wet especially our bed. We immediately called the host and she came right over to try to fix the issue. She was excellent to work with and had everything cleaned and dry by the time we got back from our float. She refunded a portion of our money very quickly. Iâm not sure if everything is on the same water tank but we had absolutely NO hot water Friday evening or for the rest of our entire stay which was Friday-Sunday. We had 8 people in our group who needed showers which was very difficult because the River water was warmer than the water in the house. Whom ever took the pictures for this listing did an excellent job but I really donât feel that they properly represent the property which is located across the street from the river, however, You can see and hear the River rolling and it was beautiful. This place is old and needs updating and a deep cleaning. We did enjoy our trip but we were hardly at the home. I would not stay here again despite the hosts excellent service.
Beautiful venue. Our only complaint was the cleanliness, general upkeep of property...lightbulbs missing, batteries not in clocks, downspots not attached (it rained), lots of bees, flowers not attended to, lots of dirt and cobwebs, heat vents are dirty, window sills dirty---needs a thorough top to bottom cleaning and then it would be absolutely perfect.
We stayed in the Manor one night during Thanksgiving weekend. The beds were SUPER comfortable! Amanda was very attentive to any questions that I had and answered them in a timely manner. The view of the river and the falls from the property is exquisite. My family would definitely return.
Everything was excellent. The property was exactly as described. The river was beautiful and the sound of the falls was very relaxing. I would love to spend a week or two here!
Great house...we rented the middle section...the view of the river was great from the balcony..access to the river was less that 1/2 mile...we had a great time.
The description is completely misleading! Private French Manior, Villa, Le Chateau?!!!! According to Merriam-Webster: Manior - a manor house or country residence in a French speaking country. A villa is a private residence and a chateau is a large country house or a French vineyard estate. The posted photos suggest a private cottage or cabin, the square footage suggests a cottage or small home, the number of people it supposedly sleeps indicate a small home, but nothing could be further from the truth. First there is nothing private about it. It is the middle of three apartments in a three story rock house flanked on either side with other occupied dwellings with separate entrances for each apartment. The description does say "wheel chair inaccessible" but it doesn't mention the 11 steps up or the 11 steps down to gain access to the middle apartment, excuse me the Manior.
The only way to gain privacy in the "master suite" is to creatively pull, pin, and lodge furniture and pillows against the heavy curtains which do not adequately cover the many windows of the bedroom.
The skillet and the pot I used to prepare our evening meal needed to be scrubbed to remove previous food stuck to them. The wine glasses had to be washed before using as did the silverware.
I reluctantly give it two stars only because the balcony was nice and the view of the falls was pretty decent.
