Very clean. Dog friendly! We didnât get an opportunity to use the hot tub. Would be nice if the coffee maker was bigger; only made 2 cups of coffee at a time.
While the interior is relatively nice there were several issues indicating a lack of attention from the cleaning crew. This included multiple bags in the cupboards of previous guests items including veterinary supplies and medicines. The water heater had been turned off so we needed to search that out. Not a huge issue but none the less unless directed to do so guests should not have to turn on the basics. The refrigerator is positioned in such a way that the freezer door cannot open all the way leaving only about a four inch opening to try and get things in the unit. There were only 2 dishwasher pods so when we ran out the owner said they would bring some right over. That did not occur. The exterior of the property is sorely in need of clean up. The raIn gutters were full with plants growing out of them. High weeds and broken glass on portions of the property. The fire ring, which is now noted in the house book not to be used because of local prohibitions, was in quite a state of disarray. While not to be used, it should be cleaned up. There is an older fire ring as wellwith just a piece of warped plywood over the top. Location is reasonable to the surrounding attractions. Beds were comfortable. Couch is older and not very comfortable and a hand written note saying not to use the pullout bed feature. The posting says outdoor games and such on property but we found none useable. The basketball hoop is surrounded by weeds and not in good shape. Has potential.
House was perfect for our needs! Clean, well equipped, nicely decorated, quiet. Hot tub was super clean and very relaxing! Close to Harperâs Ferry. Host was quick to respond and checked in on us by text.
We were able to check in early for a small fee. The location was nestled in a quiet, wooded, mountaintop neighborhood, not secluded (if thatâs what youâre looking for). Furnishings were simple and modern, and could accommodate a group easily. One thing missing was privacy blinds/curtains for the main living area, which has a sliding glass door right onto the road. It feels a little exposed at night without a way to close the curtains.
Super comfortable and clean, with 4 large BRs. Combo living/ dining area. Reasonably appointed. Bit of a drive to Harperâs Ferry. Convenient to Shephardstown and Charles Town.
My group of friends enjoyed our stay at the cabin after a day of light hiking and visiting nearby Harper's Ferry. The property manager/owner was great with communicating to make sure we were checked in and very quick at answering a question we had. I would stay again when visiting the area.
The property was clean and just enough space for everyone. We were close to the battlefields and found an amazing coffee shop
called Joan & Joeâs Coffee in Charles Town! We wish the rain had stopped long enough to enjoy the front porch, but we did see 7 deer the morning we left in the yard! We also were still able to enjoy the hot tub in the rain! It was perfect for our fun family getaway!
This was our first time in the area, and we had a wonderful stay. The house was cozy and comfortable, and the hot tub was a wonderful bonus especially after a long day driving. We also enjoyed spending time on the deck, and playing with the lawn games provided. Harperâs Ferry National park was easy to get to and we really enjoyed exploring it. If we are ever in this area again, we would definitely stay here!
