A bit shabby, but very clean room and super friendly and helpful staff. A whole lot of things had fallen into disrepair - the key cards were tricky, a soap dispenser was missing it's spout, a bulb was out, in the breakfast area the juice dispenser was broken, the waffle maker, the tv had no signal, even the clock on the wall had stopped. Wouldn't plan a week-long vacation here, but for an overnight stop it was fine.

The only 2 problems I had was 1. When the shower was on and wanted hot water it would make a whistling noise. 2. Having to struggle with our key because it wasn’t allowing us to open the door not once but twice, so the having to go back downstairs just to come back up was a bit too much. Last time at a holiday inn express.

The girl at the desk was very nice & helpful. The room was not so good. I felt like the room had been used, like someone had checked in, been there for a few minutes & maybe changed rooms. The toilet seat was up, the pillow was slightly squished as if someone had sat down on the bed. I wasn't sure so I just put my stuff in there. Later in the evening I went to call the front desk & realized that the phone was completely disconnected from the wall. I called the desk from my cell phone & she told me, "oh yea some of our phones don't work anymore." Ok so I got the direct number to the front desk. A while later I was freezing, I turned off the a/c but ther oom never really cooled down. I switch from cold to heat so I could heat up the room a bit to sleep. I immediately noticed a smell coming from the unit. I wasn't sure what it was, but before I could figure it out, the smoke alarm went off. I quickly turned everything off & eventually the smoke alarm went off. No one ever came to check why it went off. No call, no visit. that really scared me. I could still smell that same smell but eventually it went away. I was still nervous & probably should have asked for a new room, but it was late & I was all unpacked. I just wrote an email to my family telling them that if I die overnight it was probably due to whatever happened with that smoke alarm. Obviously I survived, but I have to tell you this was not a good stay. I would never go there again.

WAY OVER PRICED FOR THE HOTEL CONDITION

This was one of the worst stays in a Holiday Inn Express. The bathroom was disgustingly dirty. The shower rod was turned wrong and looked like it was about to fall out of the wall. The curtain did not reach from end to end, due to the way the rod was turned. The tub was stained, there was no "warm water" it was all hot. One of the queen beds sounded and felt like it was going to fall apart. There was also a cord coming out of a wall and into the bed that was not covered and a major hazard. Also, the "buffet" breakfast was a joke. They didn't really have any Gluten Free options other than fruit, yogurt and the eggs. (Hampton Inn had GF bread and cereal at least) There was no bacon or sausage only the eggs and pre-made pancakes, that my husband said tasted like they were frozen.
