We arrived on a very miserable wet Friday evening and got a great warm welcome to the hotel: thank you. We stayed in room 1 which is up in the attic: a lovely quirky room that was very quiet and comfortable, though you do need to mind your head as you move around the room. We didnât realise when we chose this room that the roomâs bathroom was downstairs: this was okay but we may have chosen differently had we known.
The public spaces in the hotel were comfortable and welcoming but the general decor throughout needs refreshing as some of the paintwork has become grubby.
The hotel has WiFi but it doesnât reach through the whole building: the availability of decent WiFi in a hotel is, these days, really a basic requirement, and not a luxury. There is definitely an urgent need to address this in this hotel.
Breakfast was fine. Room very nice and well equipped. General Manager helpful and friendly. Good value. It was noisy due to traffic noise but nice touch providing ear plugs. Thanks
Staff very friendly.
Room was not particularly clean and the shower blocked with previous occupants hair.
Overall the accommodation for the price was unfortunately very average and would not re book
A surprise around every corner. Did not expect the beautiful Tea room, wish I had more time to enjoy.
This hotel is unique, quirky and charming.
The grounds are also beautiful for a nature lover like me and fire pits a great plus.
The management were so welcoming and helpful thank you.
Even breakfast delighted with the best tasting mushrooms Iâve had in a while.
Donât expect immaculate but expect homely on a grand scale.
I hope I get to return and stay longer
Stayed for one night, family of four. We were pleasantly surprised from the moment we stepped through the main door of the building. Were greeted with a big welcome in the cosy and beautiful lounge. House was very clean. Staff were wonderful, friendly and gone out of their way to serve us. They lived up to their standards of "from home to home" saying. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. Thank you.
This is our third visit, for 4 nights this time and it didn't disappoint. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room and facilities are very comfortable. I had their cider from their own orchard which was excellent. Definitely recommend a stay

Les points forts : Personnel et service
Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Easy to park. Rooms are a bit 'tired' but comfortable.
Really good staff. The hotel needs a little TLC here and there, but it kind of adds to the charm of this quirky hotel. Good value as well. I have stayed here many times on my business trips to Hastings.
An enjoyable stay, comfortable room, good breakfast and friendly staff. Nice gestures such as cookies in the room. Close to the Hastings Country Park with great walking trails.
Nice friendly staff hotel a little dated but thatâs not a negative - adequate place for a stay beds were very comfortable and bathroom in need of a refurbishment but these things are minor
