Would stay here again

Very pretty and extremely well supplied little cottage. Located in a very private area surrounded by lemon trees add an herb garden. Approximately a 20 minute drive to Napier and Ocean Beach.

A Terrific Weekend in a Tiny Home

Herb Cottage is a very quiet, private, well-appointed, charming cottage located 23 minutes from Napier and close to Havelock North, a booming town with a great variety of excellent restaurants. We loved staying in the orchard, visiting Napier on Art Deco weekend, and spending a fun evening at Meeanee Speedway

We enjoyed our stay at Herb Cottage..Brigid was very helpful. Lovely sitting outside in the late afternoon and watching the animals and smelling the lemon blossoms.

Quiet and had all we needed for a relaxing few days. It was delightful to wake to bird song and check in with the sheep. Great to be able to do our washing. Lovely to have eggs, milk and some essentials provided.

The property is in a lovely rural setting, Small observation, would dismiss one set of outdoor furniture Inside would dismiss cane chairs & replace with bench/seat for keeping bags contained Very nice though 👌

Quaint and Quiet Farm Cottage

What a wonderful stay at Herb Cottage! It is indeed surrounded by herbs! This cottage is on a working farm with multiple orchards and an extensive gardens. Our hostess had some eggs, fresh herbs, lemons and milk waiting for us. The space is small, but also spacious since the double doors open to a lovely deck with plenty of outdoor seating. We enjoyed breakfast out there every morning! There is no TV, and it wasn’t missed! The bed was comfortable and the shower great. We left the windows open at night and liked the cool night air and waking to birds singing. It’s not typical to have bug screens on windows, but we did have a couple big insects come in and screening would help with that (my husband quickly caught and disposed of them). We had access to do our laundry and a warm greeting during the day from the owner’s pup ~ We loved that; so friendly, and then she would wander off. Just checking on us! There are also 2 bicycles for use. We just didn’t have time for those between other visits in the outlying area. This a definite return place if we come back to this area of NZ from the states. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay!! *Make sure to note that there is a cleaning fee that is included in final amount.

This charming rustic, little cottage is a delightful change from hotels. You’re in the fields; sheep, horses and a lemon grove are outside your window. The kind host left us wonderful lemons and eggs. No screens on windows though so bugs do get in.

The bed and shower was amazing and the area was really peaceful with only bird sounds. The wifi was intermittent and there was no TV but it did not detract too much from the experience.

Highly recommend this little cottage

Quaint cosy country cottage. Our host Brigid ensured all basic supplies including eggs bread and a selection of condiments. We loved the quiet location. The only thing that marred our stay was the confusion Hotels.com caused with our reservation we had to find somewhere else for a night and we await a refund. Brigid had not been correctly notified and ended up with a double booking to contend with and this made us feel rather uncomfortable

Lovely stay at this peaceful little cottage. It's compact, but beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Cooking and barbeque facilities. Luxurious linen and a very comfy bed. So relaxing it was hard to leave!

Herb Cottage is a quaint, cosy and peaceful property. The kitchen is well resourced and the host left eggs, bread and butter which was a lovely touch. The bed is super comfy. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

It was a very cute little hidey-hole where we could escape from the rain on cold days and served as a great base for outdoor activities on the good days. It is very handy to the cycle trails and beach as well as being relatively handy to Havelock North. Herb Cottage is well named. There is a great selection of herbs just outside the door, and it is well supplied with cooking utensils and equipment to turn out a tasty meal if you're wanting to eat in.

It was a lovely stay, very peaceful. The cooking facilities were more than ample with two hob rings, a small oven and a barbeque. We were actively encouraged to use the pool (which we did each morning!) which was very nice. They also have decent push bikes which again are available. Most things are not in walking distance but a short drive. This is what we were expecting but due to it's location made it very peaceful. Being able to do some washing was a great help. Thanks you for a very relaxing stay

We enjoyed Herb Cottage, liked the location and it had everything we needed. It was well provisioned. A couple of small problems. We advised time of arrival to be between 3-4pm but nobody home when we arrived at 3pm. Turns out owner was in Australia. We were told to let ourselves in, unfortunately it wasn't obvious where the cottage was so we couldn't. We sent a text and returned an hour later and were let in with no further problem. Unfortunately the bbq was dirty and we weren't able to use that. Also the property needed a good amount of shrub/tree trimming. There is a large tree over the cottage and due to the wind this was banging against the cottage all night. Saying that we would recommend and thought it was good value for money.
