The apartment is nicely renovated, inviting, and well laid out for living and working while you stay. I had to do some remote work during my visit and the home office space was a nice spot for it. The house is in a pleasant residential area that's a short drive to downtown Haverhill and the commuter train to Boston. Everything was clearly explained and communicated - check in, check out, navigating the space, etc. Local pastries waiting for us upon our arrival were a lovely touch!
The upstairs apartment was easily accessed and well lighted for night time arrival. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom very clean with hot water and plenty of soft towels. The hot chocolate and candies were enjoyed by my grandchildren who got to sleep at âgrandmaâs houseâ for a night or two.
The property was wonderful, clean and very quiet, nevertheless we would not choose to stay there again. All contingencies are slanted toward the owner, e.g. no cancellation policy, unclear if children are welcome, control of the heat and bathroom fan, no one not listed on the agreement is even allowed on the property. Upon entering the property there is a list of rules on the kitchen table. What was lacking was anything that would help the renter like local restaurants and attractions or the address posted on the fridge in case 911 assistance was needed. All of this made me apprehensive as the renter that if I accidently broke a plate, a crisis would ensue. I prefer to work with people who will assume the best of me.
