Good points - lovely looking cottage tucked away in a small village with quick access to Hexham. Bed was comfy and it was lovely and clean. Good location for most sights in the area. Good internet connection. The Tassimo machine was good, I always take mine with me, so it was a nice surprise. A lovely welcome pack with gluten free pasta, pasta sauce and some biscuits. A nice touch. Bad points - no off road parking other than the village green which we were not comfortable parking on due to the wet, no mention of where to park in the details either. The bath towels were for pixies. Nowhere to put your provisions for the stay other than the fridge; all kitchen cupboards were filled. The heating was hit and miss with electric radiators and the logs for the fire were damp; no kindling either. We have a wood burner at home so have a lot of experience. Only large lights in the lounge, a table lamp would have been nice. The shower room is small and gets very condensed and water runs off the tiles and window. There is a dehumidifier running all the time that fills up most days so is obviously known. Hot water is very limited, one shower and then the next one has to wait. Not sure how a family would cope. A lot of dog hairs to be found; we don't have dogs and yet the bedding was covered under the duvet. The sheets or duvet were very crumpled and looked unloved or ironed. Whilst the bad points outweigh the good here, we did have a nice stay but would not return here for reasons noted.
