Room very cold, no staff on site overnight, no food available (breakfast or dinner) we only stayed one night instead of two. The email received prior to arriving stated that breakfast and dinner would be available, staff dismissive regarding no food situation.
Staff member was courteous. Room was OK but shabby. Mouldy shower cubicle and windows. There was no food available, even for breakfast as the dining area was being re-furbished. This was not mentioned in their advert.
The staff were ok. I only had one interaction with them. There was meant to be someone available from 7am for checkout but it was empty.
The room had no noise cancelling at all. The punters downstairs in the pub could be heard loudly and the noise from the main road was loud. The room was ok, though the mattress was hard and lumpy. The sink had a big crack in it. The carpets were creaky too. The pillows even stacked together provided no support.
Overall for the price, sleepable but nothing else. I wouldnât come back.
Itâs a quaint pub built in the 1700s I believe. The room was nice however there was no water pressure in the shower and the bathroom was oddly put together. It would be a nice pun to eat or drink at, but I wouldnât recommend staying in a room.
Pitch dark car park with lots of trip hazards. No food available several nights of the week. Damp, draughty, noisy room with peeling wall paper. I refused to stay in the hotel and left within 5 minutes. Unable to get refund. Not sure how the single other review was 10 !
I have a number of things I could say about the George and Dragon, but the most concerning was being told I hadn't paid for my room when it was booked using a rewards night in November as they no longer work with Expedia - my booking was through hotels.com
The hotel did not recognise that my booking was paid for and asked that I pay and then sort it out later.
My seven year old was very upset, thinking that she would have to sleep in the car.
I wasn't the only booking with this issue.
