The room was immaculate and well appointed with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and even a little two-eye stovetop, full plates/bowls/cups/silverware, pillows out the wazoo, comfy beds, and a small table. We had the hot tub to ourselves on Valentine's night and the checkin/checkout process was effortless. Location was amazing for shopping, out of the way. Not a beachgoer location, but we weren't there for the beach.

Place really felt its age. Main and room facilities need repairs (holes in carpet, squeaking floors, musty smell, etc), and more than that, some real remodeling and upgrades for modern day. Pillows were awful and all uncomfortable, needed more variety of firmness. Bed next to the loud and noisy air conditioning and up a steep set of stairs. Bad smelling soaps and shampoos, needed body wash. Clock turns off when turning off the light. Staff were pretty cold and uninviting. Breakfast options were few, unhealthy, and unappealing. Price was way too high for was more like a 2-star experience.

Very clean and plenty of room. Only downside was none of the buildings are connected so you have to go outside and to another building for registration and for breakfast. For the size of the buildings and number of rooms, they lacked sufficient baggage carts.

Front desk staff was unsure if I would pay deposit for license Service Dog. He was telling all kinds of things that did not apply. My room had roaches coming from shower drain. Tried washing them down and they would be back up. Gross. They told me they were palmetto bugs. Still not something I want to see when showering. Then at check out. I had the same non knowable staff member who wanted to Charge me more than Expedia said I own the property. I showed the clerk Expedia receipt. I left the hotel not closing my bill because I was not paying it. Watch out when booking online and paying at hotel!!

Enjoy our stay very much. The room was spotless. Probably the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. Great amenities. The breakfast was very good. It was even better than one of the local restaurants we tried. I would stay again and highly recommend.

Had an overnight stay with my family at Palmera. The room was very clean and up to date. My only complaint about the room was the refrigerator was kind of loud, but not too bad. Breakfast was okay. The scrambled eggs were kind of squishy, the sausage links didn't really have a taste. The grits weren't good, as they tried an attempt on cheese grits but not so sure about the cooking method as it tasted like it needed to be cooked longer. The potatoes were great. For the price, this was a good experience for my family and me. When we are in the Hilton Head area again, we will consider Palmera Inn again. The staff was also friendly and helpful.

the shower set up would create large puddles of water in a large part of the bathroom because there was not a barrier between shower and rest of the bathroom. it was weird.
