No one in lobby at check in. Called # and they took care of us right away. Also called with an issue and it was resolved right away.
Very clean but small
Pines Motor Lodge was a quiet, family-friendly place to stay over the Labor Day holiday. Steve is a great proprietor and it became my morning routine to get coffee and have a slice of banana bread in the lobby. Great location within walking distance of downtown Douglas and a few minute car ride to Saugatuck. We loved the 50âs decor, too!
This is a charming little place and we really enjoy staying here whenever we are in this part of Michigan. The receptionist seems like heâd rather be anywhere else but working and is not very friendly. The gift shop is also a mess and full of clutter. Otherwise, we really like it. They provide ice from a cooler and wine openers if you are in need. Parking slots are oddly designed, but convenient. Restaurants and like Philâs and The Southerner are delicious. For fun, rent a bike and ride around the area and be sure to visit the giant Root beer barrel and enjoy an ice cold, frothy, frosty root beer!
This was a real experience staying in a motor lodge property. The owners have done a wonderful job of bringing back this point in time when tourists were just getting on the road and there were places like this all over the country.
This motel is charming and so welcoming. Every detail was well thought from a customer point of view. We loved the coffee in the morning, the quaint decorated, the chairs all around the grounds to sit and chat, the manicured flower beds and the decor of the gift shop to the rooms. All very warm and cozy. Well maintained and very clean. Closetenouth to Dougals to walk to downtown. Longer hike to Saugatuck. Great location close to severa places to eat.
