Hit all boxes!

Perfect time, something for everyone! My daughter and enjoyed reading and embroidery on the screened in porch. My husband and our boys got pretty competitive on the ping pong table, and we all enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Furnishings were very comfortable. Perfect property for our family of 5!

The Sand Dollar Was Very Nice

This was our fifth or sixth different house rental in AMI and the Sand Dollar was a very nice place to stay. It is well maintained and in a convenient location for beach visits and to walk the island.

Great Vacation Location!

We enjoyed a great 7 days at the sand dollar! The house was as described and had something for everyone in our party from a quiet reading nook on the front screen porch to a relaxing pool/backyard area. Bonus it’s a quick 2 block walk to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay!

Great place that needs some TLC

Overall this is a great house for a family of 6. The location is perfect with a short walk to the beach and walking distance to Pine Ave. The screened in porch was fabulous for soaking in the morning sun while enjoying coffee and a book. The house was clean. There were several items that didn’t work well or at all; The garage door didn’t open. The elevator quit on the first day we were there with our luggage in the elevator. An elevator wasn’t a necessity. However, we thought it was nice to take luggage up to the third floor until our luggage got stuck in there for a few hours before maintenance came to get the door open. They were unable to fix it. The washer quit working with a load of laundry in it. The dryer takes two 70 minute cycles on high heat to dry clothes. The dishwasher doesn’t work the best. Make sure you scrub all dishes before putting dishes into it to wash. The water dispenser on the fridge quits working periodically. The oven takes double the normal time to bake. The pool pump quit working the 2nd day there. However there was a bad storm the night before that may have knocked it out. The hot tub is not a hot tub. It’s part of the pool and is the same temp as the pool. We were bummed about that. Regardless of all the items that need fixed, we enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyed our stay

We stayed here for a week with 4 adults and 2 kids. Pros: good location with easy walk to the beach, we loved that the pool was clean and warm, and the house was spacious for our group. The grill ran out of propane and was refilled the following day which was nice. Cons: beach umbrella could not withstand the wind and some chairs were not in great shape. There were minimal beach toys so we had to go out and buy a bunch to keep the kids entertained. The dishwasher left dirty water behind so we hand washed most dishes. Upstairs tv did not connect - we did not ask for this to be repaired but I think they would do this if requested. Overall we enjoyed our stay with some minor inconveniences

Holmes Beach

Property was everything listed and more. Great pool/spa, beautifully landscaped. Walking distance to restaurants and beach. Lots of beach chairs, umbrella, beach wagon, towels, etc. Only negative was zero spices, condiments, etc. Publix market nearby though.King beds and premium linens were appreciated.

Great property but consider this

We just returned from a week at this property as a family of 5. Things we enjoyed about the property include: * Interior is comfortable and well maintained. * Elevator made transporting luggage much easier * Central location to beach and free trolley stop * Great selection of beach gear Considerations: * Could not get the hot tub to consistently work. The property mgr and owner were responsive but we’re not able to resolve it. This feature was one of the main reasons we selected the property and was a disappointment. * When playing ping-pong, remember that the garage is hot and not ventilated. * We couldn’t get the TV in the 2nd floor bedroom to work (queen bed) Overall very good experience and would choose it again.

Amazing stay

Loved the house and location of this property. The amount of stairs were a little tough on my mother. Would have been great if there was a bathroom on the garage/pool level. The pool alarm got a little annoying. But I realize it’s necessary for people traveling with kids. But the house itself was beautiful. Plenty of room. Enjoyed the pool area and all the outdoor space. Also enjoyed the screened in porch. Loved being able to take the golf cart everywhere.

Great place. Poor management!

Great house. Clean, equipped, and in a nice location. We rented this place for a week and were only able to use the spa and the pool once in spite of several attempts and assurances we received from the management company to fix the heating issue of the pool. The spa was not functional most of the time. No information on how to troubleshoot either and no one came to the house or left a note. Not even call backs! Very disappointed considering that my kids were looking forward to using the pool.

The house is great. Great area. The only issue we had was the pool and hot tub were not very clean even with my cleaning what he could with what he had available. We did have to get someone to come and show us how to get the hot tub to work. The company had someone over right away. The house is beautiful just those small issues, we would definitely stay again!!

Great stay!

The house was great. We had three adults and two children. There was plenty of room. We took full advantage of the pool and hot tub! We walked and drove to the beach several times. We walked to ice cream down the street (~10 minutes) several times. Walking distance to the Ugly Grouper. Trolley stops on both ends of the street. Also, neighbors called the Monkey Bus for ride one night. We have stayed at AMI three times - a few random perks this house has over others we have stayed at: A view of the sunrise from the screened in front porch, laundry baskets in each room, several beach chairs, boogie boards, pool floats and some sand toys, they have updated the cookware and it was very nice, ping pong table, and adult beds were very comfortable. The dishwasher and dryer could use a tune up; it would also be worth replacing the old knife block (there were nicer knives in the drawer, so not to worry), some dresser drawers could use fixing. If interested, would recommend renting a golf cart for part or all of your stay - we didn't do this in advance and they were all rented out. You can ride the golf cart all the way to Publix! Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The street was quiet and residential. Lots of other renters, it seemed. We had a nice time on the island - weather was good and we enjoyed the sun and heat.

Reasonable location to walk to beach. (2.5 blocks). Best to cart or ride bikes to shopping area given distance. Stayed over Christmas holiday, happened that weather was super cold for FLA, so did not get to enjoy the pool/hot tub area as much as would have liked. This area is definitely best part of this rental. Layout of house worked well for our family. Liked the screened in front porch. Appreciated having beach chairs and beach towels provided. DVD player didn’t work when got there. Called management company and they Promptly switched out the same day. Two disappointments: 1. the dishwasher basically doesn’t clean the dishes. We ended up hand washing the dishes. I notified the AMI rental management of this so hopefully switched out soon. 2. We have a family of 5. Rarely could get through even 3 evening showers Before the hot water ran out. Husband said has 35 gallons tank. Given size of rental home, could use a larger tank, or better yet- go tankless. We just adjusted and spread out our showers.

Amazing Stay

Everything was amazing on our trip. We love it in Anna Maria so much. We already booked for next summer. The only issues we had was the WiFi was down for most of our stay and I wish they supplied more towels & wash clothes. Other than that everything was great. I would definitely recommend this place to stay.

Great location & nice home

The photos were just like the rooms in person. We loved the bedrooms and the beds were very nice. The overall layout of the house was very nice. The kitchen setup could have been a little better for the dishwasher & stove but wasn't a big deal. The pool was very nice and clean. We had the tree maintenance come on Monday afternoon. They were in & out without any issues or disturbance while we were hanging out by the pool. Then the pool guy came on Tuesday afternoon which he asked us to stay out for an hour until the chlorine to get stable. If we were at the beach that afternoon on either one of those days we wouldn't even known, but we would go in the morning and come back to the house around 1:30 for lunch and hang out at the pool for the rest of the day. They had several boggie boards, pool rafts, beach umbrellas and (6) very nice beach chairs. There is NO wagon so we rented one from Beach Bum's Rentals @ $42.00 for the whole week which included dropping & picking up at the house. This was SO NICE- it would fit the beach chairs & our personal beach canopy without any issues. Taking the easy 8 minute to the beach was not a big deal. They had plenty of bath & kitchen towels. The beach towels were nice and large. The outdoor shower and hose around the house was nice to clean off after coming back from the beach. The screened in front porch would have been great if it had a ceiling fan- a little hot in the afternoon due to the sun hitting it from the side. Just a personal note- be sure to bring everything you need. The only thing they offer is hand soap and 1 toilet paper roll. There is no dish soap for a starter. I left some of my dishwasher tabs and had bought laundry detergent. Some of the tables inside & out could have used a good cleaning and I would have been happy to do that if they had something to do that with. The beach & ocean so very nice. The notebook they provide offered many tips & suggestions while visiting the island. The internet was secured and now has a password. They had Spectrum cable on all the TV except for the twin bedroom (only a DVD player). They do offer several DVDs, books and games to use during your stay. The ice maker was great and never gave us any issues which was great on such hot days. There is a blender and toaster but not many storage containers. The coffee maker takes standard filters which we left some for the next guest. You will enjoy this home and the great location!

Loved AMI

This was my first trip to AMI and I loved the island and this property. The property management team was super responsive. The location was perfect. We rented a golf cart for extra convenience with our 13-month-old and it was great for a quick trip to the beach. We would definitely rent this property again in the future!

Excellent Location

The pictures are accurate and cleanliness of the unit was above par. We contacted the mgmt. for a special request prior to arriving - and was taken care of prior to our arrival. First time I had to check in and it seems alittle disjointed. Usually I have doorlock codes prior to arrival. This was a first dealing with a 3rd party. The info book in the unit is quite detailed with things to do.. 2 things future renter should be aware of: thermostats on each level and internet is NOT secure. If doing personal online business just download the hotspot app on your phone. Debbie Gravish
