The drive way was surprisingly challenging to get out of because of the limited view of north bound traffic. Thankfully 101 was not busy. Be ready for steps and a workout to unload your belongings. There are 2 good sized spots to park and the stairs are not steep.
The house has windows across the front that made the stay a blessing. I watched the sunrise daily and watched tide changes, waves, calm water, otters and sea birds. The cove is serene in early morning and dusk and I took advantage of kayaking.
The beach can be walked at low tide and the online tide and wind tables were accurate. It's a quick drive to the local market. We went to the Shelton Dollar store to get a few kitchen supplies while we were there.
It's a beautiful home right on the water. We enjoyed all of our meals outside and used the paddleboards. I really enjoyed watching the sunrise while still lying in bed, and we stargazed each night after spending some time around the fire pit.
The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, but you must bring your own spices, including salt and pepper, and a cutting board.
Additionally, we could not find any additional TP besides the half roll left on the holder, all of the cleaning supplies were empty, and the grill was missing a brush.
Something red and sticky was spilled inside the fridge, and what appeared to be little kid hands were on the windows when we arrived. The grill also needed a deep clean before it could be used.
The bathroom was well stocked with towels, soap, and Dove products. The shower had a large overhead and a handheld and the instant hot water was really nice after jumping into the cold fjord!
Amazing clean comfortable house but did not compare to the outside seating /deck area. It was an amazing view and extremely relaxing. The driveway was a bit hard to locate and very steep but worth it for the house.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the great waterfront house. Wonderful house, well outfitted kitchen, and absolutely beautiful view with plenty sea life sightings during our stay. Love the location! Grateful for time at this home.
Lovely location and fantastic views. Very quiet place to relax for a few days. Note on the VRBO description that this property is a 4 mile drive from downtown Hoodsport, not a 4 minute walk. Hopefully that can be corrected.
Would definitely stay again and recommend.
New appliances in the kitchen with high quality pots/pans and knives. Nicely remodeled bathroom with a roomy walk in shower.
Beautiful views inside and out. Great outdoor furniture with multiple sitting areas.
Easy access to the beach in front of the house.
The beds in the twin bedrooms were noisy and the matresses hard. If you like a firm mattress, than no worries.
Be aware there are lots of steps down to the house when you are packing in your groceries and belongings.
The parking is narrow and limited.
What a beautiful property! At high tide, the Hood canal looks like an infinity pool! The paddle boards were a great touch to explore this beautiful place. The house is super charming with huge windows and thoughtful, modern updates. The beds and furniture were very comfortable and the house was squeaky clean. We loved staying here and would definitely recommend it!
