Lovely clean rooms and bathroom. Friendly staff. Breakfast was cooked to order and pleasant enough but had to wait a long time. Parking limited but felt very secure. Would stay again - good value.
Last time as there I paid 78 For my room including breakfast. This time because that room type was unavailable I agreed an upgraded room for ÂŁ122 then at check in they had the audacity to ask for another ÂŁ15 for breakfast when it should have been complimentary. On top of this the shower did not work at all and I hand to hand wash myself. Altogether a terrible stay and I will never stay there again.
We stayed two nights - we had a front room which was noisy both mornings with outside traffic/people speaking - secondary double glazing would help. The room was nice - bathroom same but no towel rails.
Second night we were both awake at 2:30 with repeated water dripping internally above the wardrobe. Reception said they thought the issue had been fixed and offered us to move to another room.
I would like to return (family stay in Huddersfield) but not getting my ÂŁ50 deposit returned since we left on Monday (this is Friday) is worrying. I called direct and they said to call my bank? We paid using Visa - I can't understand why they are holding onto our money.
Decent city centre hotel, next door to a great pub.
The room was clean, tidy and spacious. The only slight downside was the bathroom had a radiator directly infront of the toilet which made it tight for space.
Good location, ideal for a short stay. Room wasnât clean on arrival but staff were accommodating to change rooms. Parking was limited and was based on a first come basis.
We were staying in a Superior accessible room, but it wasn't. The space to walk around the bed was too small. Only very thin people who can shuffle sideways and breathe in would be able to walk between the bed and the large tv ; minibar was on the floor so out of reach ;only one rail in the toilet and this was no use for those who do not have a functioning left arm. There was NO MIRROR In the bathroom so don't choose this hotel if you like to have a wet shave, apply make up, or do anything else.
There was only one shallow glass shelf in the bathroom and this was hanging off the wall dangerously- so nowhere to put toiletries etc.The tap on the miniscule sink was also in need of repair. You could not fill the kettle from this tap as it was impossible to get the kettle into the space between the tap and the sink- probably this is why it was loose as guests tried to get some water. The bedroom lamp was broken. I was asked to leave a ÂŁ50 deposit on arrival in case I smoked or stole items from the mini bar( nb: no alcohol just chocolate bars and fizzy cans) I was told it would take 4-5 working days for the money to be refunded...I don't appreciate being treated like a criminal on arrival. We asked for the room to be serviced on our 2nd day. We returned to find that there were some additional tea bags but the bed was unmade and the bathroon not cleaned. There were insufficient towels for two guests in the room. The staff were brilliant and so was breakfast. The location is excellent.
There is no ramp or assistance to enter or exit the building, rooms. There are several fire doors and stairs to get to the room. I called the front desk in the morning to receive assistance with my bags, no one answered. I waited a few minutes, called again and still no answer. I made my way down through all the doors and stairs to the lift into the lobby. The woman at the front desk had her head down on her arms sleeping. She did not acknowledge me. I made my way outside, again none of the doors have handicap accessibility and left. I will not be back.
When I entered my room I was pleasantly surprised to find a welcome letter on the bed. I found this to be very thoughtful and was much appreciated.
The room was kept to a high standard and the standard of the staff was even higher.
