Outdoor heated pool, whirlpool, and sauna - tranquil, serene, and amazing views! Quiet roads to get your steps in! Our dining experience with the buffet breakfast and the Windermere Pub was elevated! The light lager? 4 Fathers beer was a nice touch, too. The resort was very much focused on attention to detail and it delivered! It is a gem!

We arrived early, almost 2 hours before check-in but were welcomed and provided our rooms right away. We received excellent service at the spa. We were late checking out due to enjoying time at the spa. We notified that we would be late checking out and there was no problem. I will definitely return to the Windermere House!

The place is wonderful, I couldn’t ask for a better hotel, quite, romantic, great outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi, outdoor sauna, fire pit, mini cozy beach. I was celebrating my anniversary, they were nice to decorate the room and offered me a free wine, that was so nice of them. But what’s worth mentioning is whatever you do don’t book your trip through a third party and make sure to avoid room 314, book directly with them. They have their room reserved for anyone who book through Expedia or booking, and that’s what I got, although I paid extra I was disappointed by the room I got, it was the only room with a single window, low natural light and a bit dark, I ended up paying only half of the price.

This is a beautiful resort, with the perfect view. We loved the pool, hottub and saunas. The complimentary breakfast was amazing. This resort is about a 30-mins drive from Huntsville, where the closests restaurants and shops were. So you need to plan ahead. The rooms at the resort were old, bathroom was very small and very thin walls between each room. I was annoyed they allowed dogs which prevented us from being able to sleep due to barking. The resort was full, and there were people that were not staying at the resort to eat at the restaurant, so parking was an issue and we couldn't get a reservation in the restaurant for their Thanksgiving dinner.

Great location could be improved

A beautiful location at a classic luxurious resort on Muskokas lake Rosseau. The fall colours were at their peak and the resort was a good location to tour from. 2 working EV chargers, 2 more getting ready. There were a few signs of problems, with sewage smell, painting off the wall on 3rd floor, Spa closed. The quality of the food was very disappointing and overall we were disappointed in the overall experience for the high price paid for our stay.

We stayed at Windermere House in October. The property and surroundings are beautiful, with obvious attention to guest comfort and convenience. We were treated wonderfully by all staff we encountered. Had we stayed longer than two nights, we would have used more of the many recreational and comfort facilities available. As it was, we enjoyed great meals at the restaurant (best apple cheesecake I've ever had) and pub, a lovely paddle on the water, swims in the pool, sauna, and my wife had a massage at the spa. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable with superb views of the lake. There was moderate sound transfer between our room and the adjacent room, which is connected by a door between them. Our neighbors were not loud nor annoying so no issue for us during our stay. We would certainly plan another stay at WH if visiting that part of Ontario again. Loved it.

Windermere house is beautifully situated on the lake so be sure to get a lake view room. The food was good; the breakfast buffet was well stocked with our favourites. It makes for a lovely getaway to unwind and feel spoiled!
