Nice Hotel Near LAX

We arrived about 8pm for an overnight before LAX flight. The only problem is if you’re dropped off at this hotel, the main front door is not available for drop off close by. We had to walk from a nearby driveway about 100 ft away and push 4 pieces of luggage to the door and over to front desk for checkin. Very inconvenient. The rest of the stay was very good. The room was spacious with modern amenities. The shower was big, with nice products in dispensers. There is a shuttle to LAX, but my son came back and picked us up. However, again we had to push our bags to the side driveway. Would note that the breakfast buffet was very nice…usual scrambled eggs, fruit, juice,, coffee, etc. Overall, a very nice hotel.

At first glance, our room looked nice but both queen beds had TERRIBLE MATTRESSES. My kids and I were shocked. In all the years of travelling, they were the worst beds . I shared my concern with the front staff who simply said all the beds were like that. I have stayed at hotels that were considered an average accommodation and the mattresses ranged from decent to great The pool was extremely shallow, impossible to swim, but the general pool area was nice. We accidentally left our swimsuits in our hotel room when we checked out and immediately phoned the hotel but they said they didn’t find anything in our room even though we know 100% we left them there. We had just gone swimming before we checked out and we were trying to dry them. Honesty and integrity among staff is important. What is the point of having a lost and found if the person who cleans your room keeps your items. Obviously very upsetting to have someone keep them. The hotel was extremely quiet. The breakfast buffet was q delicious but only ran until 9:30 AM.With a restaurant packed with people Not only did they not allow entry which I understood, but we were all extremely surprised that they shut down the buffet to all the guests at 9:40. So if you had gotten there at 9:25, you would’ve been able to go one time, so that was ridiculous. I’ve never experienced that in other hotels with buffet breakfast. I certainly expected more from this hotel for the price of the room. I would never stay here again.

Noisy. Flashing white strobe light in room. Unable to turn off light in kitchen, had to pull plug for microwave to turn it off. Kitchen had tea coffee but not way to heat water for tea.

The Hyatt House LAX gets points for having a sleek, modern vibe in the lobby and a smooth check-in process. Our suite was clean and comfortable, but... Our room had what I can only describe as a conceptual window. There was a pane of glass, yes, but it was frosted over like a cake; letting in light but denying any connection to the outside world. The WiFi functioned like a moody cat: on its terms, and with no warning. Also, the bath was more of a philosophical concept, since the drain plug had apparently taken early retirement. The restaurant downstairs had good food, but the ambience was giving upscale truck stop vibes. And the mandatory 18% gratuity? That level of confidence in the experience was bold. Not the staff’s fault—they were fine—but the setting didn’t exactly scream “reward me generously.” Now. The shuttle. The drivers were great, but having to get picked up and dropped off next to a dumpster in what felt like a covert back-alley drop-off zone, was a real “Hyatt, what are we doing here?” moment. Nothing says “premium hotel chain” like dragging your luggage past the smell of wet cardboard and regret. Maybe we came in hot after staying at Bahia Mita Secrets (also Hyatt), where everything was polished, intentional, and luxe. This felt more like the brand’s underachieving cousin who got held back a grade and is still “finding itself.” Next time I'm near LAX, I’ll be exploring other options.

Don't use this hotel when you need free shuttlebus

Never can use the airport shuttle bus, no one care when you called the hotel and asked about the airport pickup. I have to pay for transportation to get to the hotel even they said free-airport shuttle. Never able to use, no one pickup phone when the front desk transfer you calls to shuttle bus pickup service. Don't count on it.

The room size is OK. Yet, there is no cups besides the coffee maker, no cups on the washroom sink. There is no power supply on the working desk. There is power supply on one side of the bed. When we walked into the room, there were rubbish on the floor. Breakfast choice is limited. There is no drop off in front of the hotel, entrance is just beside the building. Does not belong to the 'HYATT' brand. Fortunately, the staffs are really good and police.

Was so convenient to fly in and see a show at SoFi. They even had shuttle options for us to make everything easier. Jack in the bar was helpful and friendly.

Okay but you can hear aircraft taking off.

It was okay. The noise from the cargo air terminal was quite loud. Also, there were no cups or drinking glasses in the room.
