Just returned from a week in Scotland and used the Loch Ness Drumnadrochit Hotel as a base whilst backpacking the Affric Kintail Way over 4 days. Fantastic service provided all round by Donald and his team. From allowing me to park my car there for 4 days while completing my multi day walk to providing plenty of useful information about the area and things to do. On finishing my walk, I'd planned to stopover one night and return home.I decided last minute to stay for 2 nights to rest up and Donald booked me into a lovely room which was just what I needed after 4 days in a backpacking tent. He and his staff couldn't do enough to make me feel welcome and the food in the restaurant was excellent too. Would definitely recommend this place if you're looking at staying in and around Loch Ness.

The staff changed my room from a double in the main building to a double in one of the “chalets” due to renovation in the main building over-running. It was inconsiderate not to inform me at some point and ask if that was OK. Be aware also that check in closes at 4pm!

Completely coloured by the fact that the hotel is being refurbished so there is no reception and 100mm of snow making parking hazardous. otherwise found the lodge open and wow what a room. Pine walling all amenities, loved it. Should come again, May and June.

Disappointing

On arrival (mid October), I was advised that there was no restaurant service other than breakfast, and no bar. Room was clean and fresh, however I discovered a used towel on the radiator behind the Bathroom door. TV worked fine, but there was no remote. Bathroom fan worked well but was noisy, so may have upset neighbours, (electric) shower worked well, but was also quite noisy. It is clear that this is a seasonal hotel. And the season had ended, so few staff. Disappointing, as it could have been good I think if all the resources had been available.

Perfect place to stay instead of the busyness of Inverness. Got upgraded to a nice new room and it was clean, well designed and easy to access. The short walk across the bridge into town was perfect and there were a few nice restaurants to choose from (thank you to the front desk staff for recommendations!). Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
