No Toast machine rather odd and items on the hot plate NotHot ie Tomatoes breakfast al inclusive however not value for money if I had to of paid for it individually
The Gatehouse is amazing and the rooms 5 star. The receptionist was amazing pick us up and drop us off after lovely meal and drinks.
Restaurant
The restaurant staff were lovely and it was an extremely busy night for them. Starter was selection of cooked meats and wafers on wood board. Had steak with chunky fries and the sauce was amazing. Overall the food was star of the show. The lounge was quiet and classy the bar manager was a class act and great professional presence.
We don’t normally stay in 4* hotels but it was a special occasion. We were put in the gatehouse and on arrival the room was cold and the tv wouldn't connect to the remote sky box. A very nice person who i think was the 'house manager' came straight over and sorted things out, but why doesno one check if things are working before guests arrive? Lovely room and quiet location made it worthwhile.
Breakfast was good but we were at the tail end of service and had to ask for more hot food to be cooked.
Lovely building. Gatehouse room newly renovated and stylish but tepid water from shower.
Initial greeting at reception more focused on the fact that we were there an hour early than welcoming us. No flexibility on the 3pm check in understandable sometimes but perhaps suggest where newly arrived travel weary guests can relax while waiting rather than just turning them away.
Staff seemed generally unhappy. Focused on tasks in hand rather than interacting with guests.
Service didn’t match the building and facilities.
Very nice hotel, tucked away in a quiet location surrounded by lawns and trees. We were in a room behind the main building which was very comfortable, well equipped and air conditioned. The staff were all very helpful and we will definitely stay again.
