Fantastic stay. Can’t think of a thing to change. Host was very communicative and clear in throughout the process and also had fun facts about the surrounding wildlife. The house is wonderful and has all the amenities we could have hoped for. Great range of living spaces from the well-stocked kitchen to a spacious living room, and patio with table, grill, and cushioned seats. The sun room was a particular favorite in the early mornings. We cooked most meals and the kitchen had all the pots, pans, etc we needed. The lake is crystal clear. Kayaking was great. Swimming off the dock worked well for the kids and the tubes in the garage were a great addition. The biggest difference compared to many rentals we’ve had is this feels like a home that belongs to a family who loves it themselves—not just a placed purchased to rent. Was a wonderful week!

A beautiful home on a quiet, clear lake. The listing descriptions and pictures shows you all the positive aspects of the property (and there are many) so there's no need to list all of those things. There are just a few things to be aware of if you plan to rent this home. If you have a larger group, there is not enough seating around the tables (in or out). Some of us had to sit on bar stools with our knees at table height. The only hooks for bath towels, beach towels, wet bathing suits, etc are by the two doors near the garage. Neither is located near a bathroom, a bedroom or the areas of the house most used so be prepared to get creative in order to dry your towels. The upstairs bedroom has a window AC that is very loud so people who like it quiet should not choose that room. The kitchen was fairly well appointed but know that there are no disposable products like paper plates, foil and baggies. The never ending list of rules and instructions is extensive and seems a little over the top but if you're a respectful guest, no worries. Overall, a nice place that just needs a little tweaking.

Property was everything that we expected and more!! Wonderfully kept, extremely tidy and clean, and gorgeous views of the lake. You can tell the owners have really put their heart and soul into this place. Only regret is I wish we had longer to stay, but we had a tight window this year for a summer vaca in which the owners even modified their minimum night requirement for us to make this family trip work. Thank you again!!

Memories Made!

This property is stunning. The inside is clean and tidy, the outside is well groomed with amazing views! Indoor games, outdoor games on a quiet lake with very clear waters. It was very easy to communicate with the host who was very kind. The house was recently renovated and it shows! I would highly recommend this to anyone!

Old Farmhouse-Irons-Family vacation 2024

Old farmhouse that was tastefully renovated. Accommodated our family very well as far as sleeping arrangements. The only thing that disappointing was how mucky the lake bottom was, which was disclosed in the description, we just didn’t realize how mucky. However, we still had a great time. We just floated at the end of the dock. We had great weather in the lake to use the kayaks. I encourage you to go through the little channel that takes you in to to Big Bass Lake. Owners were very communicative. Thanks for sharing your beautiful place!

Cutest farmhouse retreat

The home was clean and well decorated. There were so many toys for the kids to use which was such a great amenity. The lake was great- we fished, kayaked, and swam. The owners were very responsive and helpful. You’re pretty much in the middle of nowhere so cell service was spotty. The only negative was the neighbor was pretty loud but it wasn’t really an issue.Overall our stay was fantastic!

Quiet at relaxing

This property is off the beaten path, but we are no strangers to having to drive 30 minutes to get where we need to go. The lake is crystal clear and was a great temperature. The house was very clean and felt like home. I would stay here again.

Family Vacation

Was so relaxing and the space that had been created was so thoughtful. We would definitely stay again. We had a family of 8 with three young children and there was lots of space for us all. The yard and the swimming area for the kids was wonderful. Boats go slow on the lake so could go out on kayaks and paddle boards worth the kids without worry. Wonderful stay!

Family vacation

Very nice property. Super clean and nicely decorated. Well equipped with most everything we needed. We were disappointed the channel connecting to the bigger lake was impassable via our kayaks so we were limited to just the small lake. The lake was very quiet during the day and night. We used boats, rafts, etc to avoid the muddy bottom by the shore. As in the description, it is not a clean sandy bottom. The upstairs air conditioner is pretty loud so we had to turn it off every night. Fortunately the weather allowed us to do so. Many comforts are provided for your enjoyment and we had a great time. The conversation has already begun about our next vacation because this one was such a success.

Wonderful Lake Home

We just returned from a wonder week at this lake house. The house we VERY nice and well maintained. We cooked several meals at the house and lacked nothing. We have ZERO complaints with the house. The lake.......ahhhhhhhhh. We thoroughly enjoyed the lake. The kayaks were perfect and we took full advantage of them. The girls also really liked the paddle board. I was able to fish several times and loved being out on the water ***the original listing indicated there was a peddleboat but there is no such offering at this home. This was our first vacation trip to Michigan and there is soooooo much we liked about it. The only negative is that this home is pretty remote which created some issues with Wifi and the fact that there is pretty much nothing in the general proximity of this home. We took several day trips (Ludington, Macinaw Islan, etc).....but they were just that....full day trips. Again...this property is SUPER nice. I think we will visit Michigan again sometime in the future but it will have to be a location that offers points of interest, resturants, etc that are closer to more populated areas.

Perfect Family Vaca Spot

The home was well kept with many kitchen utensils to use for our family dinners. Jennifer was a great, responsive host. The lake was easily accessible and the kayaks were a nice touch. Everyone liked relaxing around the campfire and gazing at the stars. Our family will chat about these memories for years to come!

Relaxing Family Vacation

We enjoyed our stay at the house. It has all the comforts of home. There is wood for sale in the garage (honor system) so no sense hauling wood up there for the fire pit (like we did). The kids and grandkids fished off the dock and tried out the kayaks. The water is so clear! We saw deer, turkeys, hummingbirds and even a bald eagle. It was so relaxing and made for the perfect get away for our family. The host is great with communication and responds quickly. Definitely a 5 star from us!

Family vacation

What a beautiful vacation spot. This home is on a very quiet and quant lake. We kayaked all the time. There was always someone out whether fishing or just exploring. The lake is also great to paddle board on. There is shade all day long somewhere near the water and the beach. We got our exercise in climbing the hill to the house from the beach but this grandma had no problem. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful little spot with us.
