Waited at least 10 minutes just to check in. Our door to our room had a broken lock. Which she didnât believe till I showed her. Very run down. Thereâs a reason the room was cheep!!
Have stayed here a few years ago, sad to say itâs gone downhill. Holes in the wall, barely any furniture in the rooms, there was no dresser or tv stand, just a sheet of plywood mounted on brackets. The ceiling fan had a cord running across the ceiling and down the wall to the extension cord that was dangling from the plug for the tv with a bunch of other stuff plugged into it. Never stayed anywhere quite like that before. Didnât feel very clean or cozy in the rooms. The door didnât latch, so had to always use the deadbolt to keep it closed. Didnât feel very safe with my kids. Ended up cancelling our booking for our return trip home and staying somewhere else.
The property was not in great condition. The staff were not available when I arrived. After ringing a bell to get staffâs attention I waited wondering if anyone was there. When staff came they were talking on the phone and continued to talk on the phone while I waited. After initial check-in, I then had to wait to receive a key for my room. The room was okay.
This place is not for everyone but I love it. I have stayed here multiple times and it's always been a great experience. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Not much by way of added perks but a great place to get a good nights sleep and a nice shower.
Check in was horrendous and took forever. We had 3 rooms and one of us was given keys to a room that was occupied. They were then given a key to another occupied room. I was given a room with dirty towels thrown on a cabinet. I was then shown several rooms and told to pick ones . A lot of keys thrown around with little security. No one should provide internet service for this hotel as there is a lack of security and carelessness with patrons keys.
No has out dated curtains fell off the wall no screen in the window no toilet paper no cable place was a crap hole and they charged me a extra $200 I want my $200 back I'm not paying for curtains falling off the wall cus you don't no how to put Sheetrock anckers in. It doesn't look like it's the first time they fell off for how big of a hole was in stat area.
Arrived at 6:45 pm to check in. Outside office door propped open with a pail. Sign said ring door bell. Rang it twice. Young ( maybe 8 years old) boy shows up. Asked a couple questions and got no response. Either didnât understand or couldnât speak. Never found, saw, or spoke to an adult. Definitely not a functional motel at this time. And Human services should check on the boy
Worst hotel situation ive ever had. Says everywhere that check-in time is 3pm to midnight, was there at 930pm and the place had all the lights off at the front desk, there was no one there and no one answered. Then spent almost 2 hours playing the run around game with someone from hotels.com customer service before they wanted to transfer me to a different hotel over an hr away, never booking through this site again was extremely unprpfessional all the way around
The building itself is so unique. The owners are so kind and helpful. Goes beyond themselves to make your stay great. The housekeeping is great, so clean! Will stay everytime i come there. Which is often. This was my third stay.
Overall the property is decent. I picked the property because I am on a fixed income and it was the most economical place in the area. When I checked in I didn't have my reading glasses with me so I signed the receipt without seeing the total charge but quickly realized they were charging me 11 dollars and some change more than my guaranteed reservation was booked for. The lady apologized but claimed to not know how to refund the money. She was very polite but as I mentioned I am living on a fixed income and every little bit can make a difference so it was pretty disappointing. Even though the stay was acceptable I don't plan on staying there again.
We didn't like that we couldn't stay there because they do not take online reservations so we had to find a room somewhere else. We stayed in Spencer Iowa in a very nice motel. You might contact the Earth Inn so you take
them off of your online register.
Alex was a great person to get what I needed to stay an extra night. They are short staff so check in was after 5 that was a little inconvenience but other than that I enjoyed my stay, Restaurant next door with awesome food tooâŠ.
After making a booking on hotels.com we arrived to find no one at the hotel. We called a number posted and they said they told Hotels.com to stop booking because they were closing. We were then directed to find the cleaning lady to see if there was a room. She showed us one but we declined and the entire place was dark and smelled damp and moldy and the floor was squishy. This place is not adorable. Itâs disgusting.
