VERY close to the airport -- you really could walk to the terminal but there is a 24 hour shuttle, which was the #1 reason I picked this particular Doubletree. The JAX airport car rental/parking lot had just had a catastrophic fire, and it was uncertain where and when the car could be returned to. I ultimately returned to the airport offisite, took the auto rental shutlle to the airport, and Doubletree was there in a few minutes (less than 5) for the pickup. Hotel room doors, etc. are dated and could use a make over but very clean. Staff was great, polite, and corteous. Made sure I received my Hilton points and cookies... :)

Ultra convenient

Overall an excellent experience. The only down sides were the sleeping impediments specifically : noise from the swimming pool area and the wall mounted "spotlight" which also serves as the room climate control screen.. it is far too bright for anyone wanting a dark room to sleep in, cover it with a wash cloth or something and its fine.

Sadly, the pool was not working. Our hallway smelled like marijuana, and we didn't sleep well because the air conditioner in our room sounded like a truck revving it's engine through the night. I thought the price of water in the front lobby was a bit expensive. We did like the convenience from the airport, we enjoyed the restaurant, and out room was very clean.
