This quaint home is close to everything you need yet is located in a quiet neighborhood. It was perfect for our week long stay. The host is quick to respond to communications and a pleasure to deal with. Tahnk you. We would stay here again.
Mandarin Pearl worth considering on next Jax visit
My solo visit for 4 nights could not have been easier at the Mandarin Pearl. Owner was very attentive/responsive leading into my arrival and I never needed anything from him during my stay. I did not need to use the yard. I did need to use the shower and it could best be described as worn but clean. All in all, the Pearl was clean, suited my needs and was easy to access. There might not a better walk to coffee/breakfast in America than the mere steps from the Pearl to Bagels R Us.
We spent a month here in December/January. The house is three bedrooms and one full bath. The Beds were comfortable. The house is a great place if you have pets with a nice yard. There is laundry on site. The main kitchen pots, pans, utensils, table settings, were all there. Appliances are all fairly new and work well. The host were very nice and accommodating with a couple requests while we were there and they were very nice about helping out. The only thing I would point out is for folks so theyâre not surprised the tub/shower floor.looks dingy. It wasnât necessarily not clean, but it probably could be replaced. Other than that, we did purchase our own swiffer mop to keep up with the tile floor, but there was a provided vacuum we used as well. If youâre looking for a place that you can bring a family thatâs close to shops and activities as well as the beaches at a reasonable price this might fit the bill.
We rented this property because it stated it had a complete fenced in yard. That was the main reason. 1. Gate was broken and could not be closed. 2. HUGE Florida ant mountains all over the yard, side walk and driveway. 3. all weeds!! They stuck to our pants and covered the dogs paws. 4. Flying bugs all over the yard because the grass/weeds were so tall and abundance of and farms hidden in the tall weeds. 5. roughly 50 feet from the busiest blvd in Mandarin. Heard cars all night. Ended up in the ER. Had a reaction to 54 ant bites. I was standing in the driveway. I had lots of pictures. Owner would not response to any of my message concerning the tall weeds and if someone was coming by to cut them and kill all the ant mountains. NOT hills, mountains.
Everything met our expectations and Communication was Premium. If we are ever in Jacksonville for a short stay again, we will definitely consider getting a hold of you. Thanks for everything.
Mandarin Pearl was clean, quiet, well located, and cozy. My husband and I stayed for one week and our host, Richard, answered all our questions quickly. The house was well stocked and comfortable. We would book again!
There were ants all in the house. The air conditioner quit working on our last night and the property manager didnt resoond to my message, or phone calls. Its is a nice house. Other than those few things it was a great stay.
We came to Jacksonville to visit relatives and attend the Mandarin Art Festival. This house was close to everything we needed to visit.
House met all our needs, including laundry.
Groceries and such were nearby, as were restaurants. Umami Japanese Curry is a block away and delicious.
El Castillo Taqueira & Bakery is a short drive, and worth it - had the best tacos here.
Our current home has been under renovation and the Mandarin Pearl worked out great. The location was in close proximity of our home so we were still able to shop and eat at our favorite places.
We are remodeling our home in Mandarin and the Mandarin Pearl has been a perfect place for my family to stay. The home is very comfy and the location is great. The owner Richard is great and very responsive.
The house was clean and plenty of room for us, the owner was very responsive and polite. Only thing i would recommend would be at least a small fire pit in the back with a few chairs for an added amenity.
Our house was nice and clean and the neighborhood felt safe. Very accessible to everything we wanted to do. Our host was very pleasant when we contacted him. I would stay there again
Some friends and I traveled to Jacksonville for a dog show and stayed at Richard's house. It was small, but more than adequate for the three of us and our dogs. The house was very nice and clean. There were two queen beds that were quite comfy and one room had two twins. One better than the other, but we were adults, probably wouldn't make a difference to a kidl The house was located close to just about any kind of store you would need. Loads of great places to eat too. We had to travel over the 295 bridge to get to the site of our show and it wasn't too bad, even in the tropical storm! A laundry is available if you are there for five days, and it was a life saver! Richard even let us use it before the five days (though we did rent the house for 5 days). There is a 10 cup coffee maker and the refrigerator is a side by side with more than enough freezer space. We had dogs with us and the house was perfect for them. Big back yard and a good sized front yard in a very quiet safe neighborhood.
Everyone loved it. You would never have guessed how much space it has from the outside. Location was top line with everything being right around the corner. I would definitely book again.
We stayed two months. The area is an older section of Mandarian area of Jacksonville, but everthing was new from the paint on in. Close to I-295 to visit other areas. Every kind of resturant available on near-by San Jose Blvd.Would stay there again.
This house was everything we needed for our trip. The beds were comfortable and everything we needed was in the house. It was located close to everything - grocery store, restaurants, etc. The yard needed some attention when we arrived and the owner responded fast and took care of it. Check in was simple and easy. The only thing negative was the noise level on the street at times as some of the neighbors rode loud motorbikes often. Overall, it was a great house for what we needed.
