Both. Great location, easy accessibility to entertainment, restaurants, beach. The host was very welcoming and was very quick in responding to questions we had.
Unit had a few issues that should have been addressed long ago. The shower had very little water pressure, the drain was very slow and you are actually standing in ankle high water while showering. The units patio was moldy and not pleasant at all. There was no sliding door lock on the patio door. There was no way to lock the door. The a/c return vent was dirty and in need of a cleaning. I have contacted the property manager and have not had any results. I have submitted pictures of all said concerns.
Nice little unit for a quick getaway. It is budget based which includes the interior it is clean, convenient to the beach, easy parking even on July 4th weekend, and it has beach chairs etc. It needs some attention with updates on appliances, cookware, shower liner (mildew). A pod coffee maker vs coffee pot would be nice along with a large pot for cooking. Plastic cups would be ideal.
First time staying at Amelia surf and racquet club.. very quiet and relaxing area.. not over crowded and beach area was clean and very relaxing. Room was comfy .. just one issue with the shower head . Not sure itâs a water pressure issue or the actual shower head but it could use some attention other than that 5 star stay for me and Iâll be back!
Nice place but be aware pool construction and sidewalk construction
Place was clean , slightly dated. Very nice location to the beach. However our unit was right across from the pool which was closed unbeknown to us. There was construction every day starting at 7am with noise and dust. No response from either the property manager or owner even after complaining several times.
We usually book a hotel for the Amelia Island car show week, but tried this instead and would do it again. A good location with an easy walk to the beach and Amelia Island Concours grounds. Also an easy drive to shops and restaurants.
The check-in was to the minute, not a second earlier. Apartment C102 was clean, homely and had everything we needed. The shower nozzle could be replaced, as very limited.
There was ongoing maintenance outside, so the very small pool and direct walkway to the beach closed. It would have been nice to have been informed in advance and told about the other small pool area and direct access to the beach.
There was able parking when we went and it is secure.
Pros: Location, very quiet, easy access, communication, size.
Cons: Very dated kitchen, Non functioning appliances
We arrived a couple hours early and because the room was ready they were accommodating and allowed us access. Unfortunately the key pad was dead so we went to eat while waiting for the batteries to be changed.
We were informed that it takes 8 hours for food to "cool" in the fridge. When we placed items in the fridge it was hot and the temp dial was all the way up. It is a very old fridge that is covered in rust. Food will go bad in a lot less time than 8 hours which tells me they knew of the problem before I complained.
The kitchen which is already small has full sized washer and dryer which makes it almost impossible to open the fridge or oven without bumping into them. On check out your supposed to run the dishwasher, well we had washed the dishes because the dishwasher was full of water. Oh yeah and the pool outside our door was closed.
I have used VRBO for years and never left a bad review but I won't use them again. Next time I'll pay less for a 1 bedroom suite and walk the extra block.
My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at this condo for a wedding we had to attend in the area. Super close to the beach and a lovely view. We love visiting Amelia Island and hope to come back soon!
Leaking bathroom sink, toilet constantly ran, not very well kept up. Miss matched linens/towels. Expensive for the experience.. I do understand it was an in demand weekend. Good access to the beach, and local festivities. Not worth the premium price charged.
My spouse and I were quite pleased with the adorable unit. It was raining the entire time we were there. The entrance into the unit was easy, for a much needed rest.
Property was nice but this 1-bedroom needs some updating. Furniture was a little uncomfortable, dated and aged. The king bed was okay but was starting to show some age. Windows needed replaced because they were foggy and tough to see out of. Owner was very responsive to questions and addressed all of our questions.
We enjoyed our stay at the Amelia Island Surf & Racquet Club. This first floor unit made it easy to get to the pool and beach. The unit was as described and was clean. The furniture was OK for a 2 week stay -The king size bed was very comfortable. The disappointment was that the Refrigerator and washer/dryer were rusty. It was cosmetic and a result of the Fl sea air - but it visually downgraded the unit. I would not live with such a situation and so found it off putting in a unit I was paying good money for. Also, there was a problem with water leaking and then refilling in the toilet tank and often we would have to remove the back to get the toilet to flush. after calling and texting the management company multiple times over 10 days they never showed up to fix the problem. Said they had to "order" parts - it s the standard flush fixture in a toilet and can be bought off the shelf in any hardware store.
