Lovely place with easy access to the beach. Extremely quiet and dark, allowing for great stargazing. Plenty of room for our family to spread out. Friendly host who quickly explained everything and was available for questions via text. Would definitely return the next time we’re near Kaikoura.

Simply the best. A real gem. Great location. The proprietor, Paul, was so very welcoming and helpful. Paul waited for us with an umbrella since it was raining when we pulled up. And he even did our laundry.There were very special touches throughout including fresh flowers and a fruit basket. We will be back to stay longer. Spotless and beautifully decorated. Big windows. Great feeling. Can't say enough.

Superb

My friend and I stayed at the Factory for one night on our travels around New Zealand. All I can say is I wish we had been staying for longer! The elegance and quality of this old Dairy farm are beyond compare. We had the whole wing of three bedrooms to ourselves. Each of the three rooms is decorated beautifully and the beds were so comfortable that it was the best night's sleep that either of us had in our two week stay in NZ. Janet and Paul were so helpful and such lovely warm people. Not to mention the best breakfast I had in NZ when Janet cooked up a three course breakfast of museli, fresh stewed rubarb and berries from the garden, followed by crayfish caught by Paul the previous day. Thank you so much to them both. What can I say other than this is one of the best places I have ever been lucky enough to stay at and there is nothing at all to fault.
