When shopping for hotels, I chose one that was more expensive because I thought it would just be a better experience. That was not the case for this hotel, unfortunately. No pool, no hot tub, and the hotel room looked poorly constructed.

It was disappointing to arrive and find that the swimming pool was drained and not usable, as we had planned on having that available to use with our grandson. That was not mentioned in the link to the hotel through Expedia. The temperature of our room was way too warm and never cooled down enough for comfortable sleeping even though we turned the heating/cooling unit down to 61°. The lobby with the fireplace was nice, and the breakfast area as well. We were not impressed to find a man, who seemed to be connected to someone working in the kitchen or at the front desk, sleeping at a table in the breakfast area with a hoodie pulled up over his head when we went for breakfast our first morning there.

Hot AF

My review is a bit subjective, so take that as you will. My biggest gripe is the lack of climate control. There is only heat due to a boiler system. We were on the 3rd floor and our room was just hot. 75+. We kept a window open (in late January) the entire time but the relief it provided was negligible. When wer wee outside and noticed that most of the other rooms had their windows open as well, so it wasn't just us. It was just uncomfortable. As for the rooms, they were clean. The beds were not queens...full sized at best, even though advertised as queens. They were also very firm and the pillows were thick and dense as well. If you want a very firm bed and pillows, this will not bother you. But two days here left our back and necks stiff and butts sweaty. I wouldn't come back, but the staff was friendly and breakfast good. It was just uncomfortable.

Disappointed.

We were there for two nights. We left our room around 10 a.m. of the first day. When we returned about 5 pm there had been no house keeping. We do not expect fresh bed linens! But, we would expect that used towels and wash cloths would have been removed from the bathroom floor, the trash emptied and coffee packets refreshed for our second morning.

Stay was good for the most part. Room was a little toasty. Thermostat said 77. We turned down to 68, but didnt get there til morning and started going back up. Also breakfast was supposed to be served until 10am. We got to breakfast about 9am, there were eggs, sausages and a few potatoes. There was still an hour left, but didn't refill those when ran out. Still several people staying who cam fo breakfast and there wasn't any. Felt like they needed to do better job of filling when was empty. Other than that, our stay was good. Staff was friendly.

It is disappointing to see that a place has a pool online and then get there to find it is closed. My kids were ready to enjoy swimming, instead we delved into disappointment. It is my first time staying here and also the last. If I pay for a hotel with a pool I expect to receive what was advertised.
