My family and I stayed in the Buffalo Lodge, on the 3rd floor. I was able to request an early check in and it was granted an hour and half earlier than original check in time of 430. The text message to the property manager was very convenient. We had to go to the off site office to pick up the keys and welcome letter. In the check in letter it stated that we park in the underground parking garage and use elevators to our room. When we get there to unload, we found that the elevator was out of order and that we would either need to go up the stairs, or to go back out and unload in front of the lodge. It would have been helpful to know that information at check in. It was a very inconvenience. I was also informed by a returning family that the elevator was broken last year too. The room was nice and clean. Being right on base was very convenient. We stayed in a couple nights for dinner,- I would suggest better pots and pans for cooking and a regular large pot to boil noodles, as we made spaghetti so we had to use the small pot which was not easy. My kids really enjoyed the pool tables and hot tubs. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The elevator situation was really the worst part.
We enjoyed our time at this lovely condo! Itâs in a great location close to the lifts and restaurants! The condo was clean, cozy, inviting and had all the items we needed! It was a great time!
This property is a perfect summer getaway spot for a family. Youâre right on the river run square, so you can walk to everything you need. The complex has mini golf Thursday-Monday. And there is a shared pool with three hot tub options. There are two bedrooms + a pull out sofa. We would definitely stay here again. Would note that there isnât AC, but there are box fans for the windows.
We really enjoyed our stay at Riverrun / Buffalo Lodge, mainly due to the location to the slopes. We did a quick 4-day ski trip.
Check-in = owner uses Summit County Mountain Retreats. They are great to work with. Super communicative and easy to get check-in info and process.
Parking = super easy in the underground garage.
Condo = clean, organized. plenty of bath and kitchen towels, bedding, humidifiers (3), Fans (3-4), cookware (plenty), dishsoap (yes), TVs in each bedroom & living room, garbage bags (yes), dishes (plenty), beds and pillows were comfy.
Onsite laundry = on main level. You must pay with coins (I believe). We did not use.
Slopes = easy walking distance
Ski equipment = store your stuff in locker on main level or rent onsite. We brought our stuff.
Complaints = none from us!!
Overall size = It is not huge. Perfect size for two couples, a family of 3-4. Property was plenty big for my 18yo daughter & myself. Riverrun does have larger units if you need more room.
This condo fit the listed description EXACTLY !!
Thank you to owners and Summit County Mountain Retreats.
The condo was super clean, in a great location (just upstairs from several restaurants/bars and even a little grocery store), parking was easy, towels were fluffy and the bed and bedding were super comfortable. There are a few pool tables on the lobby level along with two hot tubs and a grill, as well as pool and hot tub just next door. Would definitely stay here again!
Master sinks not working, one parking space, candy wrappers under bedside table, we were just expected to not use masterbath sinks for 2 nights, Once I mentioned the blue taped sign on sinks " out of order" they decided to send a plumber at 10 am Saturday so we left the property when I hadn't made plans til later that day. Took photos of personal belongings we left out and they were rearranged upon our return, have photos if it all. No need for items on bedside table to have even been touched during sink repair. Must needed vacation was not very relaxing.
Had an amazing time! Condo is on point with everything! Very short walk to slopes(Gondola/lifts), lockers for skis, laundry area to dry wet gear, hot tubs, heated pool, pool tables. Unit and building were very clean and well maintained. Made for a very convenient stay. Will be booking again!
The Buffalo lodge is a good place to stay if you want to be next to everything. We really enjoyed walking around the village & being so close to the slopes. Starbucks was a bonus.
Overall the experience was very pleasant and itâs an amazing location. The property is very clean and comfortable. I will say to read all check in procedures because it is very confusing since you have to go to a separate location to get your keys. Also, donât put the address in Google maps. Itâs better to put the name of the lodge. And finally, it was super weird that a bar of soap was provided to wash our dishes and check-out procedures require you to leave your dishes in the dishwasher and turn it on, but there was no dishwashing detergent. But besides those minor things, it was a very nice property.
