Girls Getaway

Kiawah Island is simply magical and this house did not disappoint. Amenities were as described and the house was spotless.We had a couple of hiccups in the beginning, but the agency was so responsive and worked hard to get it right (which they did). I would absolutely recommend this house and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

very nice except one bedroom on second floor would not cool below 74 degrees and the mattresses in that room were very poor - otherwise great experience, nice facility

Perfect home for a large group

The location was with easy access to the beach, bicycle paths, and lovely marsh views, exactly what we were looking for. The pool was larger than most, and was a perfect way to relax after a hard day at golf and the beach. We saw turtles hatching on the beach, alligators sunning, and incredible marsh birds fishing. We had a small maintenance issue that was resolved so quickly; I could never get maintenance that fast at my own home! Very impressive response!

Check in was very easy. The communication on gate passes, directions and codes etc were very clear. The house is clean and beautiful. Even though we didn’t have great weather the first two and a half days there was plenty to do inside and plenty of room to get away and have some private time. The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty to pantry storage and a huge fridge. The pool was wonderful to have right there. We used it even in the rain. It was also chilly so they let us heat up the hot tub, which was great for the little ones to warm up from the chilly pool. It wasn’t heating up when we first tried so they sent someone over right away to fix it for us. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of towels and a great washer and dryer. We rented bikes from espm Vaca rentals and had a great time riding around the beautiful island. We did find it hard to ride bikes all the way onto the beach from the nearest beach access but found that the next one up after Ibis pond was mostly boardwalks and much easier. The grandchildren loved splashing in all the tidal pools at low tide. Overall, it was a wonderful place for a larger family with multigenerational ages.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 3 families together riding out tropical storm Debby at kiawah. If you’re going to be stuck inside, this is the house to stay in! We loved the spacious living space and bar area. All bedrooms were very comfortable and lots of conveniences. Such as 2 dishwashers, dedicated ice maker and great laundry room on second floor. The pool is lovely and I enjoyed sitting on the kitchen porch overlooking the pool for morning coffee. The beach is half mile walk or bike. The doors in this house are gorgeous! Feels like a palace. It’s well cared for and inviting. We felt safe even with Debby dropping 13 inches of rain one night.

I’ve rented many vacation homes over the past years and the kitchen was by far the best. Everyone loved the pool, it needs to be cleaned twice a week not once.

Vanderhorst Plantation

We had a large family gathering at the house which provided ample room for multi-generations. We enjoyed the pool, and beach every day. The large kitchen area and great room were perfect for us to gather. The internet access was a problem for at least half of the stay, but once the problem was Identified it worked fine. The property managers were very helpful.

Good experience but could have been better

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, our experience at this location was quite good. However upon arrival, the house was very hot and the pool, pool deck and pool furniture littered with tree debris. Having owned a pool for 30 years, skimming pool bottom and sweeping off the furniture was a chore I didn't think I should have to do, but did it anyway. Also first bedroom on second floor to left of laundry was always hot. Called A/C guy and he said the thermostat outside that room was not used. Also door locks on guest and main house very difficult to lock and open. For the price, have stayed at better houses on the beach at Hilton Head, but enjoyed the restaurants, golf courses and the island in general
