This is a very nice place. The condo had everything we needed including chairs, umbrellas, and towels for the beach across the street from the the complex. The kitchen has lots of options for cooking and plenty of space. The main living area is large and nicely furnished and the lanai is also large and very nice, and it is shaded until mid-afternoon. The bedrooms and baths are as described. The unit is accessible to a walker or mobility scooter. The step-in shower has a threshold you have to step over. We rented a shower chair from Akamai. You can walk to Coconuts for fish tacos, the Cinnamon Roll Place, and a coffee and ice cream shop right next door, We will return.

Communication and check in was simple. The location of the condo was ideal for walking to the beach or a short drive to many other sights. We enjoyed the nicer toiletries after a day in the sun and sand. Great place to stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at Kihei Akahi! It fit our family of five (3 being teenagers) really well and was the perfect home away from home. It's within walking distance of a great beach, many shops and some yummy eateries. Thanks for sharing your place with us!

The bedrooms would not cool down because the air conditioner did not cool down the bedrooms, and one room was so hot that you had to sleep on the couch. The owner said to open windows and use fans, which were not at all effective. We immediately noticed you could not walk barefoot because your feet would turn black from grit and dirt, and white socks got dirty quickly. There were not enough bath towels, and it would have been nice to have an extra set. The location is very good.

Our time here was great. The best thing about it was the location. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within a couple minutes walk. And then there's the beach. First, it's across the street! To make it even better, it's clean, not super crowded, and the waves are pretty gentle. The apartment is really nice and comfortable. I was impressed with the kitchen. Plenty of room and newer appliances. I would happily stay here again.

Great Location, Rental Not As Great As sWe Expected

A few things to note about this rental: 1. Owner was very nice, but is a little slow to respond (up to 5 hours). 2. We spotted 2 roaches, 1 that I killed and the other that went under the dishwasher. 3. Ceiling fan in primary suite was not functioning and were told it would not be fixed before our departure (5 days later). No reason offered as to why we couldn’t get it fixed before our departure. 4. Only 1 bath towel was provided per guest (4 of us total) and when requesting more, we were told no. 5. Overall cleanliness was not suitable for the overall rating of this condo unit. Toilet was not properly cleaned, showers look gross, and counters appeared to have not been wiped down. 6. Location is fantastic, and the rental itself looks nice overall, spacious for 4 of us.

A quiet respite from activities

This is a quiet property away from the main road. The assigned parking is near the condo. The unit is at the end if the building. The johnsons provide everytying you need from coolers to beach chairs, gladware. The showers had great water pressure. The beds were comfortable. We were busy with a relatives event and loved coming back to rest here. The beach across the street is best in the mornings. I would stay here again.

Easter vacation in Maui

First, the communication with the owners is excellent. Second, location was perfect for us. 3 minute walk off the property, across the street from Kam II beach. The condo has almost everything you could possibly need. The beach chairs are looking worn, but i'm sure they get used a lot, still functioning.The only blemish on this property is that the 2nd bedroom with the two single beds is difficult to cool down at night. Tried all suggested techniques (window breeze, fans, air conditioning), but it was still pretty warm for sleeping. The fans could use a cleaning as I'm sure this is something that isn't looked at very often.You are in close proximity of restaurants and small shops, and we really enjoyed the Kihei vibe. Drove the 'Road to Hana' and it was an experience. Lots of corners, tight road lanes, but found Hamoa beach just past Hana which was awesome. My wife already misses the ocean and turtles.

Perfect Location and Lots of Amenities!

We loved our stay at Kihei Akahi D102! The location is perfect! We could easily walk to Kamaole I, II and III for snorkeling, boogie boarding and relaxing. There are also many restaurants, shaved ice locations, and shopping within walking distance. The condo is very well equipped. We like to cook our own meals, and the kitchen had a great selection of cookware, utensils and even common spices and condiments. Having a washer/dryer in the unit is also a big bonus to dry swimsuits and towels. There are beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, and even snorkeling gear supplied! Finally, with 3 teens, we really appreciated the single beds in the 2nd bedroom so that none of the teens had to share a bed.Our host was super responsive and helpful also! We would highly recommend this unit!

Wonderful Family Vacation

The condo was everything that we wanted/expected for our stay in Kihei. The accommodations worked perfectly for my husband and I and our 4 adult kids- lots of room! The beach chairs, umbrella and cooler were used daily and much appreciated. We Will definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Vacation

The location of this condo is great. It is close to amazing beaches and shops. Working with the owners was wonderful. They were very responsive and the condo had everything my family of 4 (kids ages 12 and 14) needed.

Book this one! Great Condo in Kehei!

We have stayed at several other condos in Maui, this condo by far beats the rest! I'll tell you why! No need to look further! 1) Location, location, location - this condo is in the heart of Kehei, a few blocks off S Kehei Road (no traffic noise) and 2) Kamaole II Beach, our kids snorkeled here. No need to pay for excursions, it's right outside your door. 3) Close to shops and restaurants - all kinds expensive and some cheaper. If you're eating in the condo and want to save money, meal plan. This condo has the best condiment supply I have seen! Seasonings, soya sauce, oil (we left some oil to add to the collection) no need to buy this stuff! 4) Beach chairs, coolers, beach umbrellas, flippers, sand toys, noodles 5) Shampoo, conditioner, body wash - not mini size, jumbo sized containers! Ample toilet paper, facial tissue, paper towel, dish soap, dishwasher soap (a container full) I wanted to make sure I mentioned this because other condos we've stayed at literally give you 2 dishwasher pellets! dishes (plastic and ceramic) everything you need! Good time

The unit is tuck away all the way in the back furthest from the ocean. It's about a 5 minute walk to a family friendly beach where the wave weren't big while we were there this can change but i think this beach seems like a fairly calm beach. There is a window AC that requires you to use the provided fans to move the air-condition throughout the unit. They had nice Beach chairs and umbrella but were missing boogie boards so we rented some. I also wish there were more food prep items such as seasonings, butter, oils and such. Overall nice unit and good stay. Thank you
