Lovely location on the water. Beautiful sunsets. Quiet, attractive neighborhood that's lovely for a stroll. Publix a few minutes away by car. Well equipped kitchen, nice spaces for hanging out as a group - outside on the deck, inside with open plan living and dining area. We'd happily stay here again.

Very comfortable living room and beds, dock was great to fish from but water is shallow so fishing didn’t result in anything but goldfish size fish. Kitchen is super tiny for cooking. Communication with manager was excellent at resolving issues. Fenced yard was nice for dog. Would be nice to have umbrellas for deck. The suns super hot with no shade. Nice chairs and table for deck. Sunsets are great. Neighborhood is nice to walk around. Need more blankets for beds. A thin bedspread and sheet is all that was provided. Lots of stairs by carport to bring luggage up. Not easy since staircase is narrow. Good house for rental comfort.

We had never visited OBX before and felt so lucky to have found this great home! The location was so central to everything and was an easy drive to explore up and down the Banks. Being on the bay side, allowed us to enjoy coffee and listen to birds every morning on the pier. Yet the beach was an easy 4-5 min drive when we wanted to have the ocean. Great host and such a clean property. We traveled with dogs, and I am used to homes not being as polished when pets are allowed. You would never know this host allowed dogs, except for the nice gesture of dog bowls waiting for us. The supplied kayaks were well used by our group as wel. 100% will stay here again.

Abundant space in house, top notch gas stove and oven. Fenced in backyard great for dogs. Dock provided easy access to sound for kayaking. Chairs and cooler perfect for day on the beach. Lastly, host super helpful and promptly responsive.

Inside was very clean, well kept and kitchen fully stocked with dishes, pots/pans but left no pantry room for our groceries except on counters. All 3 beds had very firm mattresses. Lots of books and games for families to use. Host was very responsive and friendly. Listing identified a pool but it was in another neighborhood a few miles away so we didn’t bother. Deck, windows, and stairs were covered in spiderwebs. We knocked them down the first night but they were all back by morning so we gave up. Overall it was a pleasant stay as we spent more time at the beach and engaging in area activities more than being at the house.

Perfect getaway that is pet friendly

The host was wonderful. They were quick to respond to all of my questions and provided all the information we needed to check in and out with efficiency. The house was incredibly clean and even better than what we pictured on the listing. We even got the kayaks out and got on the water for a little while! I travel with my dog frequently and this spot was more than accommodating. There was plenty of space for her to run and lay I the sun. Before we even left the rental we were already making plans for our next visit! For those that travel with pets: the next door neighbors have two dogs that are frequently outside and will bark/stay at the fence and bark, but this is beyond the hosts control!

Great view and water access

We had a really nice trip to this property in September. The view from the deck was really beautiful, and we took advantage of the water access with kayaks. We also appreciated that the dog friendly yard was clean and tidy.

Wonderful Getaway

The property was beautiful and exactly as described in the listing. The house was clean, the kitchen well stocked, and there were many books, games, and movies available when relaxing at home. The dock was wonderful to fish off of and watch the beautiful sunsets. We really enjoyed our holiday and look forward to returning.

Great home with a beautiful view

Our family loved everything about this home! The location was perfect for us. The view of the water and sunsets were beautiful. The fenced in backyard and gated deck were great for our pups. The home was meticulously cleaned and prepared for our arrival. Areca was a pleasure and was great with communication and suggestions for restaurants in the area. We will definitely contact Areca again if we are ever in the area.

Family Trip on the 4th of July

Our family of 5 including children, elderly mother-in-law and dog all enjoyed our time at this lovely home on the water. Everything was clean and maintained. Highlights include kayaking off the back dock and seeing an osprey’s nest up close, pulling up the crab pots the host had baited for us, and watching the beautiful sunsets every night! We also loved watching fireworks on the beach only a 5 minute drive away and going to the Wright Brothers Memorial around the corner. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

Relaxing

Wonderful property and amenities. The house is tastefully decorated and comfy. We used all the spaces. Loved having dinner on the porch with the whole family watching the sunset. Other evenings took bike rides, kayaked, hung out in the awesome fenced in yard. Our dog loved it! The kids (and husband) loved the dock. We caught blue crabs and the kids enjoyed cooking and eating them. There is a great firepit where we had smores and relaxed by the fire. Short drive to beaches - we chose different ones each day. It was great having beach chairs and towels provided. Close to grocery store. The host was very responsive and friendly.Truly a wonderful family vacation. Thanks for sharing your lovely home Areca!

Family holiday weekend

The place was clean, spacious, with a beautiful porch and dock with extensive views of the bay. We loved fishing, kayaking, and eating outdoors with nature all around us! The bikes were a hit too! We had everything we needed for an adult family holiday, even the dog had a grand time!

Great Stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We are frequent visitors to the OBX but this is our first time renting on the sound side in this area. The views from this house are just spectacular and beautiful. The house is in a great, central location--very peaceful and quiet and the neighbors are really friendly. There is a multi-use path right around the corner, which we used daily. We were very comfortable and had everything we needed. The fenced yard for our Doodle was a HUGE benefit. There's also a nice dock. Areca is a joy to work with. We would definitely stay here again!
