We had a wonderful time. The location was great. We especially liked being literally on the water. There were a few issues with cleanliness and items that need repair. The kitchen sinks do not drain very well, and the pantry door handle kept falling off. Whoever was responsible for cleaning after the last guest missed a plate of food left in the oven. New grout is needed in the bathroom - there were some loose tiles and mold. And there's a hole in the bottom deck. None of these things impacted our enjoyment of the place, but perhaps the property owner might want to be aware. The host was responsive to all my questions.

The place was cute and for fishermen it’s perfect. There’s a lot of steps and the rail is not made for little kids but all of that is well represented in the listing. We would absolutely positively rent again. There’s a place to pull the boat at the dock and even was able to get it out of the rain and still fish while waiting for the weather to pass. It’s more than water front but actually sits out over the water. It’s just a nice place for a great price. It’s not the fancy but perfect for us. Chuck was also a great host!

The property needs a MAJOR deep clean!!! I understand bugs are around water more than other places, but the lower deck was not used during the stay for the fear of spiders and wasp. Beds had spiders in the sheets and multiple spiders where killed during the stay on the inside of the property. The deck has many boards that need to be replaced. The fridge was not cleaned out before our check in with left over food in it. I also had to search and find the host on Facebook and message him for the check in info. I would not have been able to get into the property other wise. I never received the info on the VRBO app until after he luckily called me back. The property is secluded and quiet and has good views just needs a lot of TLC.

Right on the water

With a little effort this property would be well worth it. The 3 decks advertised are filthy! The outside furniture is basically unusable! My husband can to clean everything up so we could fish on the lower deck. The kayaks are covered in spiderwebs as well as the hammocks. Loved the neighborhood but next visit we would find somewhere else to stay.

House is on the water and location is wonderful! House is in need of lots of updates, maintenance and cleaning. In the end we decided to focus on the beauty Of the surroundings. We had a great time!

Not as advertised

My husband & I choose this place for our 3 day holiday weekend with our family and when we arrived I was highly disappointed and a bit embarrassed. Was looking forward to sitting outside on the lake, but the entire outside area (all seating) full of spider webs & was filthy dirty. Looked as if it has not been cleaned in sometime. The railing along the upper deck was loose and almost falling very unsafe for my 6 year old granddaughter or anyone for that matter. There were a few nails sticking out of the deck along the water. The kitchen sink drains out directly onto the stairs leading down to dock, right onto electrical lights hanging there. Very unsanitary The overall place looked & felt very dirty & just unkept. The advertisement for this place is very misleading to say the least For what we paid to stay here for 3 nights I expected a lot more than what we got, and would of at least liked to see it for what it really looks like to be able to make the decision whether to spend my money here! I have taken pictures of all of this and would love to post here on VRBO but there does not appear to be option for it.

Great home on the lake!

This is a great property on the lake! Keep in mind that this house is right on the water, so there are some bugs and insects to deal with - keeping all the doors closed helps keep them out, but if you want an outdoors/indoors experience, this is something you’ll have to deal with to some unavoidable degree. Overall the house has a wonderful setup for a small family or group getaway (the 1 bathroom wasn’t an issue for us). The only thing that could have made our stay better was a little more attention to detail on the cleaning and preparation for our arrival. Several lights didn’t work due to broken or old bulbs and the main light in the master bedroom was out so it was dark in there all the time. Other than that, it’s a great property to really enjoy all water activities, sunsets and a lakeside getaway!

Location was great

We had a great week. There was a small issue getting the correct code for check in, but Chuck had someone contact us with the new code very quickly. The inside of the house is clean, but could use a little TLC. The outside had a lot of bugs and cobwebs, but after a thorough sweeping we were able to enjoy all the spaces! There are shady areas as well as places to soak up the sun. It was so convenient not to have to trek 'down to the lake.' We just had to walk down the steps and jump in. Overall, the house allowed our family to have a relaxing week.

Much better than a hotel but needs some maintenance

Nice place over the river. Needs some TLC. Lots of bugs in deck rafters, dryer didnt work, kitchen sink was clogged. But the AC and tons of windows with decent amount of space was good for the four of us. You need to walk up and down many stairs from parking to the house. That means carrying things up and down.

Perfect lake house on the water with boat

This was our second time to rent this property and just like the first time we had a blast. There are multiple deck areas so everyone could have me time when needed to step away from the fun. We enjoyed the boat we rented for a day and the kayak that was available. The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals (bring your own groceries). I have read previous reviews and don’t understand the complaints unless those renters were looking for a posh hotel suit. This is the best rental on this lake if your group intends to play in the water vs looking at it. We plan on coming back again. Thanks for having us Chuck T

Served it’s purpose and our family had a great time

Our family of 8 had an amazing time at this property. The diving boards were awesome. The fishing was fantastic. We were a bit worried about only one bathroom but it was never an issue. The only issues we had was the amount of bugs/spiders inside and outside and as mentioned in other reviews, the lighting on the docks downstairs was very poor. We took our own lighting which resolved the first issue. We communicated with Chuck about the spiders inside and he came and sprayed to try and rectify the issue. While there were still a lot of spiders inside we really appreciated his attempt to come out and spray.

Disgusting, filthy...my wife wanted to leave the minute we arrived!

VRBO should take this property off their site. It was the most awful stay we have ever experienced. The floors, carpets and decks were dirty, planters overgrown with weeds, some used as cigarette ash trays, chairs warn, and cushions torn, insects and spider webs all over. We were bitten by Chiggers and mosquitos. Doors did not close properly, kitchen utensils worthless, shower head in bathroom practically falling out of the wall…too many things to list.
