Clean room with spare blankets for colder night but room was warm. Bed was an actual double/queen not two singles pushed together. Shower had good pressure with extraction fan. Pub close had good deals with friendly helpful staff (shout out to wendy for helping with postage and other local questions) Breakfast had a good selection, was quick for service and tasted good.

the staff we met on arrival were very pleasant and helpful. Interior of rooms bright and clean and had everything we needed. Bed really comfortable. Room warm. Nice clean ensuite shower room. Fridge and bottled water, tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Nice and tasty food at reasonable prices. Down sides was that we were in Room 6 and it was very noisy due to facing the main road, so we were woken very early with traffic noise. The other issue was that you could hear people in ajoining rooms and on the floor above....very thin walls!!! f

Very clean comfortable bed and bathroom. Very impressed by a little section with microwave and toaster available plates, knives and forks etc.. would definitely recommend the room with the little balcony

A Budget Option If That's What You Need

We chose The Elbow Room based on other reviews and because it was a stop that fit our travel itinerary. Overall, what you receive for your money is probably a reasonable balance. Translation: inexpensive but you don't get much. I would say that the owners are trying their best but missing the mark. The breakfast was mediocre at best and the cleanliness so so. The shower stall walls need a thorough cleaning. What looked like a pattern in the wall material was actually mildew streaked up and down. We aren't aren't upset about our stay but rather concede that the Elbow Room is one those you get what you pay for places. You can certainly find better options that will cost more and perhaps we should have done just that.

It’s on a busy street so the traffic noise and conversations from bar customers on the sidewalk carries into the room. The walk-in shower was a nice surprise but the floor is very slippery. It needs a mat to stop a potential fall. There’s a nice free parking lot in the back but on the weekend when the restaurant and bar are busy, it gets full in the early evening.
