This is a very old and dated hotel. They allow smoking in all the rooms. At least the windows opened. Good thing it was spring. Staff do not speak English, so made communication difficult.

Beside the building is aged, but everything else is awesome. You get to experience how public bath work in Japan. Breakfast is good as well. The onsite onsen is amazing and easily the best one in Japan (that we stayed at). We were able to hike Fuji one morning and head to the onsen in the afternoon. One of the baths had a view of Fuji, too, a dry sauna, a cold bath, and was beautiful. The hotel portion was good too.
