I was there for a month and really enjoyed my stay. Thank you Angel for all your help and quick replies
Positives:
- The condo is beautifully decorated and just as it appears in photos.
- The bed is very comfortable.
- The balcony sunset views are incredible.
- The kitchen is well-stocked, with just a few missing items for cooking meals at home (delivered within the first week).
- Wifi was mostly good; I was able to work remotely via phone/video conferencing (some calls were dropped, but not too bad).
- The gym is 24/7 open and very clean; there was usually no more than 1-2 others at the same time, so always space.
- The pools and outdoor areas are kept exceptionally clean.
- The locals are super friendly, as were all the people at the condo. I felt comfortable and safe, even after my husband left and I was on my own for a couple weeks.
What I wish I'd known in advance:
- Unlike what the title says, the Malecon is quite a walk from the condo. Although a fit person can walk, it's about 20 minutes down a narrow, windy hill (half unlit, without sidewalk and barely any shoulder) to the very edge of the Malecon and another 20+ to get central Malecon. So, coming and going by foot was a bit of a day-trip.
If you're not renting a car, you can use the local bus which is a close walk from the condo and comes every 15 minutes, and/or use Didi (better and more reliable than Uber in La Paz).
Good walking shoes are a must!
Once the sun goes down, it is quite dark and walking becomes dangerous, so if you're walking, it's good idea to pack headlamps/reflectors in your day pack in case you get home later than anticipated.
- There was no stand for the water jug, so it wasn't easy pouring water from the big jug into glasses, pots, water bottles. It'd be great if management provided this.
- Knives were dangerously dull. Although the team tried finding a knife sharpener, they couldn't, so hopefully the knives will be replaced asap (but might be worth bringing a sharpener if you like sharp knives).
- There is no heater in the unit. Many locals shared that they bought space heaters for the first time ever, as this season has been colder than usual. If you're coming in 'winter' months, bring appropriate clothing/slippers, esp. for inside the condo at night.
Overall, I loved my stay and would recommend. I'd also stay again, knowing now what I do, I could plan and prepare more appropriately.
Thanks again Angel and team for all your help!
