We loved the tall ceilings and all the windows in the kitchen and living room that let in lots of light. Very clean with large bedrooms and comfortable beds. El
The Joliet is a very well equipped and convenient location for visiting the Illinois Valley for whatever reason.Starved Rock State Park, LaSalle, Peru, Utica, Oglesby⊠all very nearby.Clean, Convenient, Cute Accommodation.I highly recommend.
This was a beautiful bungalow That had everything I needed And was also dog friendly. The location was on a busy street but it wasn't Off putting. It was a short drive to the state park and an easy walk into downtown for restaurants It was nice to have a garage to park in and there was a back deck to hang out on. The beds were comfortable And I appreciated The welcome note And the treats and supplies for my dog.
Large garage to park in. Check in was very easy. Good amount of space for my husband and 2 dogs. Kitchen was spacious and had everything needed for cooking. The information book left was very helpful. Thank you we had a great stay, and the dogs loved the treats and toys!
This was the perfect location for our goal to unplug and get into nature for a long weekend with all the hiking and nature nearby. The house was roomy and had everything we needed to cook and relax and spend time together. Elaine was the perfect host. The property was spotlessly clean. All the little details were appreciated.
In LaSalle for 5 day quilting retreat a short walk from the house downtown. Two sisters and a friend also came. Really enjoyed the space. Plenty of room, good kitchen and several places for gathering inside and outside. Would definitely book again. No clue what the wine experience question refers to.
The property was as listed. Excellent cleanliness. We stayed with our dogs and there were bowls, treats and toys left for them. Property is on a busy street but noise was not a concern inside the home. Would gladly stay there again if we are in the area.
Charming, Cozy bungalow in LaSalle close to state parks. Very clean and well-appointed . The owner provided dog treats, dishes and a toy as we were traveling with our dog.
There is a small game room with foosball, darts, games, books and toys for children as well. I wish we could have stayed longer!
Nice, roomy old house - great for two couples with plenty of room to spread out and relax after hiking with comfortable beds. Loved all the little touches - handwritten welcome note, toiletries in case you forget any and lots of seasonings and condiments in a fully stocked kitchen. Super close to Starved Rock and nice winery and breweries.
The Joliet provided a great home case for our leaf peeping visits. Easy access to Starved Rock and Matthiessen state parks. Also to pleasant restaurants in LaSalle and Peru. Elaine was great and helped us get access quickly. Property is very nice. It is on a busy street. Parking was easy. A very nice home base.
Comfortable, clean and well appointed. Owner communicated very well. Dog friendly with thoughtful welcome package. The outside space is limited and unfenced. The property is on a main road near an intersection and hence there is traffic noise which could disturb a light sleeper. Well placed to walk to restaurants.
Such a lovely little cottage close to Starved Rock State Park. Elaine was very communicative and made us feel welcomed. She even thought to welcome our pups too!!
Our family of 6 stopped here on our way home from Michigan. The house was very clean and provided everything we needed. I am surprised no one has mentioned how loud the house was, as it sits right on a very busy street. I would advise ear plugs if you are a light sleeper! The house was as described, the beds were comfortable and the location was fabulous. The neighborhood was a little bit of a concern but everything ended up being fine in the end.
Place was amazing. Super immaculate. Newly remodeled. Very comfortable. Walkable to downtown restaurants and shops. Host was immediately available if needed. Highly recommended. Will stay there again when visiting the area.
Only suggestionâŠthe living room needs better lighting. Would be nice to have end tables with brighter table lamps with shades (for better reading) rather than bare bulbs that blind you and donât give off the right kind of light. The ceiling fan lights donât give off enough light to read anything comfortably either. The lighting in the bathroom was amazing though. Other than that one suggestion, everything else was great. Thank you for sharing your house with usâŠweâll be back!
Great Jumping Off Point for Starved Rock Explorations!
My daughter and I came to explore Starved Rock State Park. This place was a short drive to the hiking and kayaking we had planned and just a few blocks walk into downtown LaSalle. The house was spotless, the kitchen well stocked, and the beds comfy. More room than the two of us needed, but would be a great place for families with teenagers who would enjoy the fooseball table, dart board, and the variety of board games. We opted for the comfy couch and the TV after our busy days. Communications from Elaine were clear and prompt. We'd definitely stay again!
The house was great.
Excellent communication with the house manager.
Good location with family and friends near by.
Hiking at the parks were wonderful.
We would definitely stay here again.
Thank you
This house was perfect. We needed a place to stay near Starved Rock & this cute little house was leaps and bounds above staying in a hotel room for pretty much the same price honestly. Would stay again if we find ourselves in the area in the future.
