this is a wonderful house, built into the hillside in a 'perched village'. Fantastic views from the terrace and the living room, but with bedrooms like caves, carved out of the solid rock, cool and dark and conducive to a very good night's sleep. The house is well-equipped and comfortable and we loved it.
It should be noted that it is reached by a very steep cobbled road with no vehicle access and then steep steps up to the door, with more up to the living quarters.
The village is delightful but much of it is now occupied by the Savannah College of Art and Design. There is no shop but there is a bustling cafe. The castle is interesting and unusual and we were able to attend a concert in the church and one of the weekly film showings in the Temple.
There is plenty to do in the area, and vines, lavender, orchards and olives all around!
