I am a VRBO self managing host with 2 properties and over 200 reviews. This is a non emotional review. The property was purchased 5 yeas ago and was wonderfully maintained at that time. Pulling up, there was a weather box with an artificial Christmas tree in the driveway. In what were designed to be flower beds in front of the porch is a dead potted plant that had fallen on the porch with fox tail weeds. I'll start with the kitchen, there were 5 forks, no ice maker and the knob on the stove was in the "lo" position to keep the gas valve off. The stove is white with brown stains around the 4 burners. The patio's table is a decorative cast iron set with just 3 chair that is very uncomfortable. It shows a lack of thought prompting me to borrow 4 camping chairs from a family member. There is also a wicker chair missing its 4" thick pad causing you to sit uncomfortably low. The deck's paint is pealing and will get your hands and clothing dirty. The corner of the living room sofa had a urine stain from a male dog hiking its leg on it. The return vent has is full of dust build up showing more neglect. Upstairs you will find carpet that is full of stains, not a single coat hanger in any of the bedroom closets and old tired bed linen. In the five years the current owner has had the property it's clear it's been neglected. I got the owners phone number from a neighbor and called him as a fellow short term rental owner. He said he doesn't hear from the property mgt.
Place was fine and we were very grateful for the last minute booking and their ability to accommodate us. They also allow dogs, which is a huge plus if you want to bring your furry friends. Some of the positives: - Quiet and peaceful - Nice/large living room with comfy chairs and couches to hang out, with lots of games too. - TV and wifi all worked great Some areas to improve: - As others have stated, some signage or directions to get to the driveway would be helpful (there were no instructions in the email/listing on how to find it) - The kitchen: Cookware could use upgrading (really hard to cook with the pots and pans and every meal resulted in smoke/the fire alarm going off) and there aren't enough utensils. For example, we had to either handwash between meals or run the dishwasher if we wanted to have spoons for our next meal. Not the end of the world but if you are looking to have 7-8 people and eat meals at the cabin, it can become more challenging. - They do allow pets so keep that in mind, but the carpet could use a deep clean or replacing. Overall it worked for our group and our needs but probably would look to book elsewhere in the future.
Requires better signage to enter property. Very dirty blinds in dining area. Kuerig coffee maker broken not working. Oven dirty smoked and temp varied. Jacquzi tub not working sprayed all over bathroom. No cookie tin. Knives needed sharpening very dull. Bench in kitchen missing parts and guest fell when bench gave way.
Very cozy home, just as the listing . Close enough to everything , snow valley , lake arrowhead village. We had a good time. The only thing is that house didnât have warm blankets, but we made it work. Also if you plan to cook at the house make sure you bring all essential like oils, sugar, aluminum foil.
