Cowboy Cabin isnât much to look at on the outside, but is as cute as a button inside! It was also plenty clean; and had everything we needed for our trip to visit The Integratron. Our only real challenge was that the AC had not been turned on prior to our arrival (which we felt it shouldâve been); and it was WAY too hot to be in there! So after driving across the desert to get there, and looking forward to relaxing for an afternoon nap, we instead unloaded into the heat, turned on the AC, and had to leave and drive around in the air-conditioned car for hours until it cooled off enough to go in( and thereâs really nowhere to go or much to do in the area spur of the moment because it IS remote! That was a bit of a disappointment that cost us half of our first day there; and even the first night in the cabin was still quite warm to sleep comfortably (we arrived right at 3 pm) on those âcozyâ jersey sheets. And Iâm no âprincess and the pea,â but felt that important detail could have been handled better. So, be forewarned that the AC works greatâŠit just takes a long time to cool the space when itâs really hot outside. By our first morning there it was fine though; and everything else was just great.
Seriously, the place IS charming; and itâs obvious the owner has paid attention to the vibe. There are no wine glasses, so bring your own if you want them. (Weâd come back if AC is turned on in advance of check in!)
