The barn house was large and accommodating to our extended family who met here from several states to enjoy Thanksgiving weekend together. We were impressed with large sized cookware and serving pieces to put our many bug meals together. We had ten guests stay but had plenty of silverware and dishes to use while others were washing in the dishwasher. The tankless water heater made many showers and dishwashing no problem at all. We utilized the screen porch for our beverages and accessed them by reaching thru a passthru window and joked we were at Dairy Queen. Lots of fun. The hike to see the train tunnel carved thru stone was my personal highlight of the trip. Really beautiful. I enjoyed the cozy cotton quilts on all the beds which played into the cabin feel. The owner stopped by and brought us firewood within hours of our arrival making us feel well taken care of
This restored barn was an amazing place for a large gathering with many bedrooms, a large eating area, good AC throughout the large space, and a quiet location.
We had a great family vacation. The library in this home was a cozy favorite and we enjoyed playing games at the large kitchen table. It is an old house and with it comes some quirks, but overall a wonderful experience. The only piece to be aware of for families is the loud pump that can heard any time water is used. The host was friendly and the check in/out process was the easiest we have ever had with our trips.Looking forward to returning again in future years!
We as a group have stayed all over the United States in Vrboâs and other venues like it and this property was by far one of the best we have utilized. We were there from a Thursday to Sunday. We got rained out on Friday and it was an all day stay on property day. A huge screened in porch that connected to a roofed over shelter with the grill allowed us to still enjoy the cookout we had planned. The huge living room with TV allowed some to zone out on the adequately furnished space. The beautiful huge 12 chair dining table gave plenty of space for eating and gaming. We had a board game going and cards at the same time. Queen size beds in all the bed rooms were refreshing and surprisingly very comfortable. The overall spacious layout was beautiful. The only draw backs were the main steps going up were a little steep and the treads were narrower than normal. At the top of the steps to the library the ceiling is low and you need to be mindful or you will bump your head. The outdoor fire pit and the owner bring in a load of firewood completed the great overall experience for us Saturday night as we decompressed and shared stories and many laughs around the camp fire. The natural beauty was capped off with views of deer, turkey, rabbits, squirrels, and owls hooting thru the night. We will be going back.
