Some sketchy fire hazards about and bunk bed that was rigged together made our stay entertaining I guess. Maybe I'm too old for hostels. There was an electrical extension cord that was taped to the on position. It kept trying to trip and turn off and couldn't because it was taped to on. Luckily we're not idiots and know that's a serious fire hazard and unplugged it. Bunk bed in our room sounded like it would collapse and upon further inspection we learned it was repaired poorly and actually would collapse soon probably.
We had a really nice stay. Our only complaint is that the mattress was so hard we had trouble sleeping and both ended up with headaches and sore necks from our two-night stay.
I've stayed at the Inn & the Clouds over the years since 2009. I've stayed before going on back country hut ski trips around Leadville. The last few years I've been staying here as a cheaper alternative for when I ski multiple days at Vail or Breckenridge.
Very affordable. Plenty of space for cooking/dinners. Very quiet on the weeknights I stay here. I WILL BE BACK this winter at some point. Staff is very nice (even when I forget items on accident there lol)
This hostel is as expected. It was cheap. But the rooms were spacious, the kitchen worked and there was a huge fridge. The shared bathrooms were never crowded. Parking was easy and close. Checkin easy too. I will stay there again.
Very nice hostel, I even made some friends and skied with them the next day. The hosts were amazing, it was Thanksgiving and they had made a big Thanksgiving meal and everyone who was staying there that night got to eat some.
What a fantastic experience starting over night at Inn the Clouds! Well worth the price paid, would highly recommend and will definitely stay here again!
