Woodford Stables is a spacious relaxing home just outside Versailles and a very short drive to Lexington. It is quite possibly the perfect location to explore the beautiful countryside as well as the many historic locations in the Frankfort, Lexington and the surrounding towns. I would recommend this property to everyone planning to stay in the area.
This is our second stay at this home. Very clean, well stocked with essentials and extras, plenty of room to spread out. Especially liked sitting in the evenings in the backyard on the lawn chairs that we brought. Very peaceful looking at the old stables and pasture. Would be nice if there were some horses in the pasture (hint, ha).
The house is very clean and organized. Plenty of TP, towels and linen. The farm is beautiful and right across the street from Eckards farm which has good fresh food daily. The town is minutes away to get essentials for stocking the refrigerator. The air feels clearer in this area, grass is almost emerald green and well taken care. It was like staying in a postcard view with breathtaking landscape all around.
My sister's and I had a birthday weekend planned for my youngest sister. House was very clean and comfortable. Communication was poor. I did end up speaking with the owner about this, she was very kind and did apologize. Only other thing I would suggest to the owner , is to have the cleaning people sweep off and clean the porch and Guilder . Having the grass cut would have been a nice thing to have done as well. We did Enjoy ourselves and like I said, the home had everything you would need.
The property name does not reflect the property theme. The property is right next to a highway, there is only a back yard with a couple barns but no wildlife and certainly no horses to be seen. The inside of the house smelled of sewer problems, there were cobwebs in corners on ceilings and some had dead bugs. One of the sinks had dried toothpaste in it indicating it was not cleaned before our stay. Both bathrooms are small; so small it was a terrible struggle to get a regular size wheelchair into it. The beds are so high that a 5â4 person still would need a step stool and there was none. Also this property is NOT handicap accessible. into difficult. i bound
Great location in beautiful horse country. House was clean and well appointed with towels/cookware etc. Orchard was closed for season, which we didn't realize until after we arrived which was disappointing. Sent a couple questions to host and did not receive response. One ? was if there was a bbq grill on site. We brought our camp grill but there was one in the garage.
The property was nice and the location was good for bourbon trips and other activities. The grounds were spacious and provided a sense of relaxation. Pictures online depicted the house and amenities accurately. It was a nice stay.
Weekend trip to Kentucky for bourbon touring and football game
Excellent location for bourbon touring and attending the UGA Kentucky game. Parking was very easy - plenty room for 2 cars/ plenty of yard to walk our small dogs. Very quiet / beds comfortable. Master bathroom was a bit small but functional. Great TV's/ living rooms (2 separate rooms) to watch football while getting ready for our night football game. Host has a detailed binder with fun things to do / places to eat. Kitchen had everything we needed. We had a fabulous visit to Kentucky (first time) and would definitely stay here again or recommend to friends.
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. House sits back from the road and has a lovely view of pastures and stables in the back (but no horses). The furniture is very comfortable, there is interesting art work with equine theme on walls, and everything worked well. House is very well supplied with items such as toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, etc. The orchard across the road sells all types of goodieâs.
Be sure to try the cinnamon donuts.
