The interior of the property, with its exposed beams, stonework and wooden floors, is typical of the region and has been comfortably furnished in traditional French country style. Peuliard, a hamlet of Lizant, is located near to the pretty town of Civray in the south of Vienne. Nestling on the banks of the picturesque Charente river, Civray is dominated by an impressive Romanesque church which can be seen in all its splendour from the main square of the town. Pavement cafes and a twice weekly market add to the atmosphere of this pretty town. Fishing, canoeing and riverside beaches are also a feature on this stretch of the Charente river.
