This is a true gem! Its decor inside is unique with all kinds of tchotchkes to look at as you check into the hotel. The 75 rooms each have a theme based on an author. I stayed in the Jane Austen room and loved it. The room has an espresso maker with 2 caffeinated and 2 decaf pods for you to use each day. The tea that's provided in-room is of good quality too. The bathroom was with a shower only and nicely modernized. I was grateful for a shower that allowed me some space to move around. The rooms come with blackout curtains that were very effective and we had privacy sheers that let the light in during the day. They also have some nice amenities like soaps, lotions, shampoos and things. The hotel has many communal areas where you can sit with your travel mates for drinks or tea and still have some privacy for conversation. We had some local friends come join us on the rooftop terrace one evening and they were thrilled to know that this hotel was so wonderful and nearby their home. There are a LOT of plants throughout the property. We loved all the greenery. I tried the Turkish bath service and it was the first time I had ever done one. I fell asleep! It was very relaxing and the service provider was very good. The hotel about a 5 minute walk to the metro station and Canary Wharf is a 20 minute BEAUTIFUL walk. We had great weather during our visit and walked to and from the wharf for dinner.

Quirky and interesting.

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, with good quality pillows. The shower taps were reversed (!?!), and the ceiling height in our mezzanine level room meant the hand held shower was hitting the ceiling. The grout in the bathroom needed redoing, and some mould in the corners could do with a good scrub. It was very quiet in yhe room, despite being next to the train line, and I loved the opening windows. Quirky, interesting and in a great location with the number 15 bus outside the door to take you right into town. Canary Wharf is a close walk if the ferry is more your style. Gordon Ramsey's Bread Street Kitchen is a 10 minute walk, and well worth a visit (or three in our case!).

This is a hotel of pure quirkiness. Your eyes will not tire from looking around. Finding your room can become a little confusing (esp after a few drinks) breakfast was delicious with a great choice. Staff were friendly. Loved that each room possessed its own unique theme too. We stayed to attend a wedding nearby. It’s nice & close for transporting into more central London. I personally would stay here again.

The property itself was certainly quirky. Lots of colourful ‘stuff’ around in the public areas. Just look online as photos people have posted. A little too busy in terms of clutter for me personally. I would have preferred a more relaxing space to unwind in. The ‘deluxe’ room we had was fairly basic but clean, with a great spacious shower. My one main gripe, and I really don’t get this, is that they provide a small space for hanging clothes with a few hangars but absolute nowhere else to put other folded clothes or underwear for example. There was not one drawer or shelf in the room, although plenty of space for such things. We therefore literally lived out of our case the entire time we were there. For a hotel that wasn’t exactly the cheapest, I would expect such basics/comforts. Location wise, the hotel sits between a busy road and the DLR so is pretty noisy. However, it is a convenient 5 minute walk to Limehouse DLR station which is two stops away from Bank station and the underground network. It’s also a 5 minute walk away from Limehouse basin and onwards to some decent pubs and restaurants. A 10 minute walk away is Canary Wharf and the dock lands where there is an abundance of places to eat and drink. Overall, it’s an OK place to stay, although I personally would not choose to go back myself. Better value for money elsewhere.
