The short direct link from Heathrow to Thistle is very easy and convenient. The staff were friendly and the evening meal, enjoyable. The one negativity is the fact that there is no lift to carry luggage up 2 flights to the first floor. Also, make sure you have the correct code for the security gate when you arrive, to reach reception.

The Thistle Hotel is not inside the Heathrow airport but it is one POD ride away from terminal 5. We love the POD, which is a small un-maned electric transport vehicle that takes you from terminal 5 to parking lot, which is next to the Thistle. The hotel has very good staff but limited dining options.

Staff friendly. Good on-site parking. Hotel’s selling point is ease of access to T5 via The Pod. Restaurant, bar and terrace have good views over the airport. On the downside, the property has no elevators

Basic hotel but expensive to access from Heathrow. You take the pods which appear free from the airport side but on checking in, you are told, they cost 8 GBP/person and of course you have to use them to get back. That info was not on Expedia's page and a bit buried on the Thistle site. Added 50% to the cost of my stay!

Luckily just an overnight stay.

Very old fashioned and extremely expensive. £7 for a bag of popcorn, £5 for a can of coke. The reception has had a refurb in the last 30 years, but none of the rooms have. Food in the restaurant was ok. On a par with Wetherspoons. Overlooking the airport landing strip though, so something to look at.
