Room and hallways were NOT clean, half the dishes were within the dishwasher which hasn’t been opened for few days probably (smelly), our room didn’t have a pan or a dish sponge, we requested those from the stuff, we didn’t get any pan so we bought one, the front desk lady handed me a white sponge (which has chemicals and absolutely not intended to be used for dishes), you can’t open the windows so the smell in the room was bad from the very moment we entered, no kettle in the room and the hot water container in the breakfast area was always empty so you can’t make any kind of hot drinks In general I suggest reading about the crime rate in Merced and avoid it if you can, it also doesn’t have any major supermarket except maybe target), Fresno looked much nicer overall

We recently stayed at this property in Merced as a large group of 20, booking four separate rooms, and our experience was very positive. The hotel is in an excellent location with many dining options nearby. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable, with convenient features such as a chair that converted into a bed. We enjoyed the pool during our stay, and although towels were not initially available, the front desk responded promptly and provided them right away, which we greatly appreciated. Breakfast each morning exceeded expectations, offering a wide variety of options including scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, a waffle maker, assorted breads, bagels, muffins, and condiments such as Nutella and jelly. The juice machine provided apple, orange, and cranberry juice, which was a nice touch. Overall, this hotel provided comfort, convenience, and excellent service. It was well-suited for our large group, and I would recommend it to both families and groups traveling to the area.

Brazen burglary attempt in parking lot .

Merced is prone to crime, I found out after staying here. My vehicle had bikes mounted on a rack. It was parked in the handicap spot right outside the lobby entrance. When I came out in the morning the steel cables had been cut. Theft had been attempted, but luckily they were not able to get the bike off the rack. Front desk hotel said yes this happens. They said that security camera was not working so they had no footage, car was parked right in front of the camera. They asked us to file a police report. Police were unwilling to come to the hotel and wanted us to drive to the station instead. Overall we felt unsafe here after this incident.

There was a good selection of food for breakfast, but the service was a little disorganized. The staff did not notice the lack of cutlery utensils or an empty coffee thermos. The front desk person was a little passive in interaction with the client.
