When requesting a room, I attempted to book a higher priced suite for a special occasion. Upon arrival, the staff was not very excited we were there and we were left standing and waiting for a gentleman with no personality to get us our room. After getting our ocean view suite, it looked nothing like any of the pictures we saw online, and the balcony overlooked the Italian restaurant that was blowing the smoke from its chimney into our room the entire time. We asked about changing our room and were told there were only 8 similar rooms and they were all booked. The gentleman said we could switch rooms from 145 to 4146 in two days but by that time, the room and the staff had already left a sour taste in our mouth. We moved to the second room 2 days into our trip and was not the same room that we paid for but a lesser valued room but with the ocean view. Sure, it was an ocean view on a higher floor, but not what we had paid for. No one had mentioned anything about me being “ok” with the switch and when asked about a refund for the difference in price, the staff became unreasonable. I will never stay at any RIU resort again and will make it my best effort to prevent and discourage anyone else from doing the same. Although the pools and food were great, the staff, the gentleman who signed us up for a boat ride, and the rooms were extremely sub par. We’ll never be back.

the inside property is well maintained, the Road that take you to the entrance of the hotel is in very bad condition, giving the Hotel itself a bad reputation, that was the only thing that i saw that needs a immediately attention, thanks

The resort and amenities were good. Room was ok, beds were not comfortable at all. In fact, the room was neither sufficient, nor comfortable to accommodate 3 people. The mattresses were uncomfortable and the sleeping sofa bed or the additional mattress provided were horrible - stinky, visually uncomfortable with mattress springs poking in your body. Limited vegetarian options too.

Overall, the resort, dining options, and activities were very good and enjoyable. However, the resort credit did not feel very reasonable, as it was split across multiple categories, making it difficult to fully utilize. Additionally, there is room for improvement in the cleanliness and maintenance of the swimming pool.

Rooms were cleaned everyday if you wanted, fridge well stocked everyday with drinks, lots of lounge chairs by the pools, lots of pool area, GREAT food options all day long, we just wish the nicer sit down restaurants (steakhouse, la cayota, krystal and the Japanese cuisine) all had a lot more seating. Those took a while to get in and they don't seat in bigger that groups/tables of 6, so with big groups your kind of eating separately. The entire resort was very well kept and clean, lots of staff everywhere for drinks/food/keeping the grounds clean! And good entertainment at the theater every night. Loved the entire experience.

The customer service all over the resort was amazing. The staff are super helpful and friendly. The amenities were so cool and we enjoyed the shows they put on every night. We had a big group traveling and we all enjoyed the different activities then came together for dinners. The restaurants had a great variety of food and were delicious!
