Let me review this apartment taking into account the full experience of our stay. The host communicates well. Check-in instructions are detailed and include pictures, which is helpful. However, the final and most accurate instructions are sent about 15 minutes before check-in. Earlier instructions are provided in advance, but we found them somewhat confusing. To access the building: drive on Chestnut Street (a one-way street). The building is located on the same block as the Hilton Garden Inn. After passing the Hilton Garden Inn, turn right mid-block as if entering the hotel parking area. Instead of parking there, continue straight and take the first left inside the building entrance area. The Henry Clay is a historic building. It is clean and well maintained, but it is not modern or recently renovated. Its appeal is in its character and history. If you are looking for a contemporary, upscale, hotel-style environment (such as the Omni), this may not meet those expectations. That said, if you appreciate unique, historic spaces, this apartment offers a distinctive experience. While the décor feels somewhat dated, it is clean and inviting. Amenities function properly, and the king bedroom is spacious and comfortable. We were out most of the day and primarily used the apartment for evenings and sleeping. For that purpose, it worked very well and we had comfortable nights. Considering the price and the excellent location, it represents strong value.
