It is terrible. I made a reservation through Expedia. However, I canceled the reservation very next day with Expedia. Expedia emaild me that they contracted the hotel, but I could also call the hotel & cancel it. I thought I don't have to do anything since Expedia contacted. In 2 weeks later, I got a credit card statement. Yet, I didn't see the refund. So, I called the Expedia. They said they were going to contact the hotel. At the same time, they gave me a hotel phone number like before. At that point, I called the hotel. The hotel told me that they have a 50% return policy if the reservation didn't cancel in a week even though I had about 7 week head for the reservation. Anyway, the hotel refund 50%. I complained Expedia, but just taking my time & emotional irritation. From now on, I am firmly decide that I would not make any farther reservation with Expedia. Plus, I will stay in a well known place that has a resonable policy.
