We liked the location and the staff was polite. But there were ants and even a rat in our room. The breakfast area was not cleaned from the night before and there was trash everywhere.

Un seul bon point, jeff qui m'a accueilli et était très serviable Manque flagrant d'entretien. Grande chambre, sdb avec sol de la douche en terre et gravier et tapis pour pas se faire mal aux pieds. Le reste du sol en ciment est peint ainsi que le lavabo. Tout est completement écaillé. Pas de télé, pas de minibar, le WiFi ne marchait pas, pas de table ni chaise, sauf dans la cour et dans un etat inutilisable. Exterieur, rivière saumâtre avec moustiques Restaurant avec tables en bois et chaises rudimentaires. Petit déjeuner à 9h00. Piscine inutilisable sale, trouble et certainement difficile de sortir de la piscine, très haute marche sans rambarde Et le prix de la chambre etait tres cher pour "çà".

I really love the lodge it was very spacy and he really had a very nice time among friends. Unfortunately, i didn't appreciate the food, wish it could be more but overall i'm satisfied with my stay and might go again there in the near future.

I made booing and they promised to pick me up from airport. Reached airport from Madagascar at 1am, none was there. I took taxi an reached the hotel at 2am. On the way taxi driver told me that he took two guest in the last weeek with booking to this place and could bet get room. He arranged somewhere else. I said, I have paid in full. When we reached it was all dark with light anywhere.taxi driver took me through dark to the hotel and we kept on calling their number with no response. I called hotel.com from there and they also verified. Thus be careful. Not a reliable place to stay. I was so much stressed. Then driver arranged another hotel at night

Relaxing retreat, good location.

We stayed a week at Nativ Lodge with half board (breakfast and dinner). My husband and I in one lodge and my 80 year old mother in another. The individual lodges are surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens with paths winding through it. The lodges have an interesting minimalist decor which we liked and comfortable beds and good air conditioning. No WIFI or TV in the rooms so we relaxed and read books instead which was great. The open plan bar/restaurant area was in a natural setting near the river with geckos and frogs around in the evenings. The decor made use of recycled materials which gave a rustic and creative feel to the place. We enjoyed all our meals and the staff were very attentive. The location is close to the airport and Blue Bay Marine Reserve and next door to the National History Museum. Nativ Lodge is in Mahebourg which is the real Mauritius, not a walled resort, so it's not for everyone, but we liked it. It is simple, relaxing and close to nature. You have to go down a back lane to get there but it's worth it.

A pleasant quiet garden setting by the river. 8 s/c units, al fresco dining. Close to bus routes and staff will arrange friendly taxi service, boat trips etc. Rooms are clean and comfortable. A clone hotel from a chain, its not. Food cooked by 5* chef Jocelyn is excellent

Extra charge for early check out

Had to check out earlier and the hotel charged us extra for that. We checked in at noon. Because of a private reason we had to check out at 6pm. The reception called his boss and the boss told him to charge us 200MUR we expected that they will refund us the booking. We found out that they didn't. Because of that we contacted two times the customer service of hotels.com. They tried to contact the hotel via phone and e-mail. But have not been able to contact them. I was told that they can't help us. I don't see that as a good customer service.

Tasteful decor doesn't compensate

Location - Nativ lodge is in the outskirts of Mahebourg. Unless you have a car, it is not very convenient. There should be better signage to indicate where it is. Room - Spacious and very well designed to a modern style. The bathroom was a bit damp. We also had problems with little creatures as there is a big gap underneath the main door that allows their freedom of movement. There wasn't a TV or air conditioning. Staff - Generally helpful. Dinner - Was simple but tastey. Just as well, since there isn't much nearby! Not sure why the bar had spirits but no beer...

Best vacation ever: 12 days weren`t enough!

Great for nature lovers and if you want to have a real Mauritian experience. They have a pretty convenient early check-in. We were picked-up at 7am and they offered us breakfast in that moment. Also they have a late check-out, so we could enjoy our last dinner without hurry. The owners are charming and treated us like family, helping us in everything we needed to make our stay more pleasant. Also the rest of the staff is very friendly and helpful. We chose the half-board plan and worth it. Ask for Ricardo`s cocktail, and maybe you`re lucky to try his speciality: "oeufs rôties". Virginie prepares delicious omelettes. My parents had a nice experience too. We were neighbours. The rooms are so well isolated, you don`t hear a noise inside. There is a big supermarket not very far away, where you can buy shampoo, etc. And the most important: the best beach (Blue Bay). Ask for COCO to do the glass bottom boat; very nice guy. Even if you`re planning to go these days -while the spa isn´t prepared yet-, you can enjoy your own mini pool with running water at one of the prestige rooms. I loved the detail of the beach towels and you have a couple of comfortable deck chairs. Nicolas, special thanks to you. Cliff, you`re awesome. Joelle and the girls, so sympa you all... Can`t wait to go back! P.S. You don`t need a safe box; Mauritians are good karma people. Don`t worry about the ants. And even the dog is friendly!

Great location, great staff, great price.

We Stayed here for 4 days and it was incredible. The setting is idyllic, calm and beautiful. Seeming detached from the world yet a step out of the drive and you are in the midst of Mahebourg. A free kayak journey, provided by the hotel, will bring you out in the scenic waterfront framed by mountains and blue seas. Room was Spacious and Comfortable. Both the living/sleeping area and the bathroom were impeccably clean. It has a beautiful view of the surrounding woods and mountain. Staff were polite and incredibly helpful. The owner is very welcoming and will do his utmost to ensure your stay is as satisfying as possible, from recommendations of things to do to arranging excursions for you. Food was local cuisine and beautiful in both taste and presentation. We would recommend this place highly if you are looking for an amazing place to stay with great staff but also would like a chance to witness the multi-cultural nature of the island.

Importante saber que é um local é simples. A rua de entrada é sem saída e bem estreita, chegar a noite é um pouco assustador. Nicolas foi super gentil e solicito, mas não parece um hotel, parece mais que estamos na casa de alguém. O quarto estava com cheiro de mofo, havia lagartixa morta e um coco de animal na pia, algumas janelas não trancavam para a noite. Os funcionários foram gentis. Tem uma quantidade enorme de mosquitos, muitos mesmo! O local fica em meio a uma mata. Apesar de tudo se você planeja passar apenas uma noite rápida (como fizemos) eu recomendo sim pois tem um ótimo custo-benefício para a região.

Séjour mitigé ..

Un joli endroit dépaysant en pleine nature mais très éloigné de tout. L'accueil et le ménage ont été faits de manière très expéditive à mon arrivée et il y a un gros manque de disponibilité durant le séjour. J'ai eu un souci dans le lodge et je n'ai pu contacter personne. Le gros point positif est le petit déjeuner copieux et excellent et la gentillesse du personnel.
